Questions & Answers

The 58 mm I purchased was not enough. Do I need the 55 mm instead?

It's obvious that you made an error. One should be returned, the other should be purchased.

As this is a thin layer filter, can I still cover the lens with a lens cap?

Please keep in mind you can still put a lens cap, lens hood, or other lens accessories with thread on top of the filter.

Is there a way to connect a lens hood to a ?

Certainly, you can attach the filter hood to the lens.

How would this work with a 24mm lens?

If it is available in the 24mm size, you would need to purchase it as the 24mm size in order for it to work. Lenses have specific size filters that fit on specific size lenses. Can you tell me how big your camera's lens is?

It is amazing how MC makes something like this happen
5/5

The investment was well worth it. A thing that is multicoated is a million times better than one that does not have a coating A variant coated with multiple layers. Before, I bought a 77mm UV filter from another brand (not mentioning the name, but it begins with "A" and ends with "ltura"), but that one died after I took it out of the case There is a lot of ghosting with the MC in low light, especially with specular highlights. Be sure to get a multicoated product. I am attaching a photo that I took with a Canon 24mm f/2 lens. I run it on Windows 8 with the filter on, and it works just fine. Here's what you need to know. No problems have been encountered, it works and I don't even realize that it is there, can you ask for anything more?.

To protect my lens from hazardous reporting conditions without budget-breaking expenditures, I bought two of these to protect my lenses from quality control issues
3/5

It came with a scratch on its coating on the first, but no issues on the second. It took only one day for them to send me a replacement, which I had to spend way too much time cleaning before I could install it because the box was dusty. In addition to the gold line, the filter also has a gold ring around it, like a Sigma lens from the past. Canon lenses have this design which appears somewhat gaudy. Nikon lenses should not have such issues, though. As far as I can tell, the image quality is fine. I have not noticed any significant flaring or distortion. It is mostly unaffected by the colors. This is good for the value, but you also get what you pay A RECENT UPDATE.

I was surprised to find slim filters with very high quality
5/5

It was surprising to find such an excellent slim filter. My outlook toward using filters generally is not great, but the necessity of protecting your expensive front glass, even if it's just for resale reasons, dictates that these 'UV' filters are used on your This is why we cannot have an 'Ultra-wealthy' These filters may be called 'Violet' protection, 'Anti Haze' protection or whatever the filter manufacturers call them. Therefore, I think the factors that are important are multiple To fight flare, the lens is coated (to avoid flare), designed slimly (to prevent vignetting), and has the highest level of transparency (to stop A few pictures were taken in extremely challenging conditions to detect flare, but multi coating really did work and additional flare was not observed in comparison to the naked lens. When you look through filter at blue sky, it appears as if you are holding an empty metal ring (your eyes are telling you that you are holding one when you are holding the filter). A very narrow gold ring on the outside suited me as well it was dull and dull gold. You can use this effect on a variety of lenses and it does not look tacky at all. Finally, I found it very easy to put the filter on my lens, there was no cross-threading like I often experienced with As well as the lens cap, the filter cap stays firmly in place. Considering the price, I can definitely recommend this glass protector, even though it only serves the purpose of protecting your glass. You should not believe for a second that this $10 filter is going to get you better photos with a $500 lens. There is no hope for it.

In the daytime, it will deflect light, in the night, it will deflect ghosts
4/5

A 50mm f/1 lens is one of the accessories I got for my Sony A7II and paired with this. A thread diameter of 49mm is used for the thread 8 of the machine. It also occurred to me at nighttime, although I am not sure whether anyone uses a UV filter at night to take pictures at night, but due to the way it reflects light on the filter, it almost looked like it would reflect surrounding lights or light trails. It almost feels like it ghosts my images, or I would think I was shaking the camera, but, I was just shaking The pros are Please note - A small amount of light is reflected. Adding contrast to your photos will make them stand out more! Please note - Described to do what it does, but in fact does not do so. Good price point* However, the cons are Please note - Please remove it from your camera if you intend to shoot at night in order to prevent ghosting or reflections on the ends of your Please note -.

Excellent filter at an excellent price
5/5

This is an excellent, There is no reason not to buy a filter It is better to spend a few dollars on a easily replaceable filter than to risk scratching your expensive lens. There are no clear parts in this filter, and the threads do not fit, and the size is an exact match. have not been able to see a real difference between images taken with the lens filter over them, and those taken without it, but that may simply be because I don't have the eye for that level of detail. When you consider that the blacks are really that much blacker and the haze has been actually reduced, the picture almost appears As a result, this is the perfect lens protector.

In the future, I will protect my lenses with UV filters every time I purchase a new one
5/5

While I'm not sure whether this filter would protect my lens if I dropped it, it would keep the front element free of smudges and that is something I value. The Hoya filter is the one I usually purchase, and I do not skimp on my filter purchases. My Nikon system comes with several lenses with F mounts that I will not use all that often, so I have recently acquired a few. Seeing how the Waka UV filter has multiple coatings and great reviews, I decided to get it. It is now mounted on my newly acquired 50mm prime and I am very pleased with it. My gear should look good, so I see no reason to worry. It is also less expensive than Hoya and a bit more expensive than discount brands as well My opinion is that this is a good compromise.
