Questions & Answers

What are the chances of it fitting Sony Nex ?

This is what I put on my 55-inch television This 210mm Sony E-mount camera was taken in February of 2003 The mount and its fit is perfect.

What is the maximum width of this lens? Will it ?

72mm is the size of this There is no brand of lens that all filters will not fit, but there will be a different mm filter for every lens. assume you have a kit lens, and if so, this is not the right size. On the lens there will be a symbol with a number next to it. There are four different filter sizes, so you should get the one with the largest number.

Can you tell me what kind of UV filter I need? This is a guide for amateur potographers. Is it okay if I say thanks?

The purpose of this product is to protect lenses. Adding UV rays to film would result in a bluish tint on prints. This step is not necessary for digital cameras as UV radiation will not negatively affect the sensors. Many photographers use lenses hoods to protect their lenses from diffraction, they do not want their image to be ruined by filters.

The filter is supposed to work well with a Nikon D3200 and an 18-55mm What lens is 55mm?

Currently I am using it on my 18-year-old This lens has a 55mm focal length. By doing this, you keep your lenses clean while reducing glare. Despite my lack of professional training, I do not perceive any harmful effects.

It is evident that the filter has a flaw
3/5

A filter such as this passed an inspection is astounding to me. It is evident that the filter has a flaw. I noticed a small fleck in the filter once I opened the sealed case. A factory inspection How does that happen? It's been five days since I contacted Hoya, so I'm waiting for their response Within a week).

It was disappointing
3/5

In this case, I was extremely disappointed and returned it right away. My first Canon New F1 SLR was a Hoya in 1983, and I've consistently used Hoya filters since then. The images they have captured have been first class and have served us well for many years. It is shaped like a round, twisty thing In open cases, you could store things safely, in a clean environment, and with easy access. But in this case, the filter was In the present case, we have a square, flip-over case A filter is not tightly secured in place, and the top is open. After taking the case out of the shipping envelope, I did notice that the exterior surface had lots of scratches, and that the filter had come loose inside. Upon opening, the glass surface had noticeable dust, and there were spots and stains on both sides of the glass. Trying to clean those stains just resulted in the glass moving within the inner ring and the stains smearing. Having never witnessed a movement like that before, it is new to me. It was the snagging of the lens tissue on the inner edge of the lens ring that was the most annoying. It was a total letdown.

There is no way to remove smudges
3/5

It disappointed me when I noticed several smudges, mostly oily, after using the product for a few days. However, I tried wiping them and spraying them with lens cleaner, but they didn't go away. Though I do not believe that the smudges affected image quality (I am not sure yet), even so, its only function is supposed to be protective, so any potential effect on image quality makes it useless for me to use. We also accidentally removed the lens filter from the lens when we were trying to remove the lens cap. (I'm certain that I tightened it as much as possible. I did not see any signs of substandard building like I saw in some of the other negative reviews I found the ring to be very secure with respect to the glass. It's been over a week since I bought it, so I'll be calling the seller and Hoya to see if I can return it.
(funnily enough, I've been having good luck with Amazon Basics 58mm UV filters so far
Easily adheres to glass surfaces without leaving any smudges.

A loose glass retention wire and smudged glass were presented at the airport
3/5

Gabrian's shipped the item by Amazon after I purchased it from them. So I comment here, even though it is unclear whether this is the problem of the shipper or the seller. Upon arrival, the retention ring holding the optic in its ring had come loose, and the optic clearly was There is a possibility that the filter was made in the Philippines, not in Japan, and at some point along the way-- An entity such as a manufacturer, seller, or shipper There is a good chance it was Luckily, I have access to optics cleaning supplies, so I was able to clean the parts and rebuild the filter quickly. My sense is that I will be able to work with it. within my opinion, this item should be sold as "used," that is, in need of repair. You might want to hire someone to go through them and refurbish.

It's just as good as black and white
5/5

In lieu of the more expensive B+W filter, I bought this. I noticed the coating that they use on my Black and White filters easily scratches. As I don't want to spend all that money on something that will get scratched in the end, I wanted something that was good, but still disposable in case I need to replace it in the future. have no idea the difference between the two filters in my images, and I'm a lot of a fiend for filters.

It was a good filter, but there were several cracks in the case
4/5

On my Canon EF 70D camera, I'm using this filter This lens is equipped with an aperture of f/4. 5 Thus far, I have tested the 6L IS USM lens and it appears to work as advertised, and I have not encountered the ghosting that some other reviewers have described. Other people have reported that they have experienced cleaning problems, but this seems to be limited to times when they are out early and the filter is fogged This filter takes at least two wipings, sometimes even three of them, to clean up I have other Hoya filters that clean up after one. It is just a necessary evil of going from the AC in the house to the humid Florida morning air, and it is not a huge deal to me. Basically, the only issue I have is that the outer edge of the case, the flange that secures the filter inside, is cracked, and therefore, it is not possible to store the filter. It is no big deal for me, since I generally keep the filter on my lens in the first place. I have no way of knowing if it had been damaged in transit or if it left the seller in this condition. An envelope lined with bubble wrap was used to ship it. While I would never mention the case to the seller or to the buyer, I occasionally keep my filters in their cases, and I think the case is part of the product. As well as a Cokin system, I have a decent collection of movies. In summary, I am happy with how the filter works.

This is a general purpose filter I've been using to protect Since I lug around my lens outdoors quite a bit and deal with the filter rather than the front element, I was not thinking twice about getting this
5/5

A lens hood is also something I have always kept on in addition to filters to protect the lens. My camera took a tumble down some stairs 5 days ago and this filter may have saved my lens. It landed on the front of the lens on the last bounce after my camera fell. There was no more than a pool of glass left. Despite a slightly misformed metal ring, a filter wrench was able to easily remove it, and the lens has been left as good as new. Its transmission characteristics were read from independent sources and I had already used one or two other filters on other lenses without noticing any flare or image degradation on them. This filter was the one I selected after reading some independent measurements.

You can use it to protect your lenses
5/5

I can only say what I can about UV filters. A lens I recently bought for my camera is an expensive one, so I decided to purchase this filter as an inexpensive way to protect it. In the before and after pictures I have seen no difference between the two applications. The program works for the purposes I am using it for.
