How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

In a state-of-the art multi-resistant coating that has 16 layers (MRC16), we increase light transmission up to 99 percent. As a result, it protects the glass structure to a degree which is structurally harder than When you see X4 UV for the first time, you'll instantly recognize the quality and craftsmanship.
A full-frame wide-angle lens cap will still work with 2mm Traction Frames that eliminate vignetting and light falloff on wide-angle setups while eliminating a lot of light falloff. A double-threaded traction frame on the X4 UV enables it to accept all of your existing lenses and filters.
Nanotec coating technology Along with MRC, our optical engineers developed a new nano coating layer called nanotec from the ground up to repel dirt, water and other elements instead of absorbing and smearing, making cleaning more efficient (and quicker) than ever before.
All 39mm camera lenses are compatible with this UV filter. There will be a line under your lens cap or somewhere on the barrel of the lens that will indicate the diameter of the lens thread. You need to order the right size otherwise your lens won't fit.
OUR GUARANTEED FOR 25 YEARS Every UV filter we make comes with a guaranteed for 25 years. An X4 UV filter is distinguished from the rest by a laser engraved serial number on the inner The period of time that we assign to you following the activation of your 25 Year Ironclad Guarantee allows us to track all future discussions about this unique filter, any issues that arise, as well as all the other data that enables the design of future Alumasc products.

A variety of reasons make me a fan of the filters offered by Breakthrough Photography. In addition to being very thin, the filter ring has a knurling on it that makes it easier to thread on and off. By stacking filters, you won't get vignetting effects. Furthermore, chromatic light scattering does not add to your lens's optical performance. The chroma fringing in a photograph can be reduced in post-processing, but it's better not to have it in Your question pertains to the X4, which is the top of BF's line. A disaster has been averted! It was a result of reviews on this site and elsewhere that I purchased this item
3/5

was under the impression that, for its price, I would be getting a high-quality item, since it is much more expensive than any other 77mm filter. A rattling sound was heard in my camera bag as soon as I attached the cheap lens to this. The filter came apart in three sections when I removed it. Although it is a quality item, I'm not sure if there is a design flaw in it or it is We could have suffered a great deal if the filter had shattered! I may have scratched my lens due to a broken filter. It gives me an air of security to have a filter. The one in question I will not give up, however. In the hope that it will be exactly what has been described as a quality item, I am returning it for a replacement. In the event that I have received the return item, used it, and determined it met my expectations, I will update this review.

That's so awesome! I like this filter very much! In September, I bought two X2 67 mm UV lenses to protect my new and expensive Canon nano USM lenses
5/5

However, since I obtained the Canon EF 100mm f/2, I am thinking of getting two more in the near future. With the 8L macro lens, I ended up buying the X4 UV 67mm instead of the X2 due to the price difference. There is only one thing I have to say Wow! Although the X2 filters are very good, this one is a giant leap forward. I feel like it's very strong and There is a small amount of weight to this filter, but that is expected from a premium filter. The 25 year warranty means you cannot go wrong and you will not be disappointed. Thanks to the extra money I spent on the X4, I am very happy. The filters I will be using from now on will all be Breakthrough's. A RECENT UPDATE For my new Canon 70-200mm EF wide angle lens, I recently obtained the 72mm X4 Using an IS II USM lens at 200mm. Having the right filter is just as important as having the right lens Always a great experience with the X4! It was great to receive a free UV filter with every purchase. I will certainly be returning to purchase 2 X4 UV filters when the time comes! I am posting Update #2 for your information This lens has a F/4L IS USM 105mm focal length I'm sure that there will be an update three in the near future.

Filters that work well
5/5

The above filters are among the best on the market. In spite of being a professional photographer for the past 12 years, I used to purchase cheap filters because I considered them to be disposable commonly used as lens element protectors, so if the front of your lens is knocked against something by accident, it should theoretically prevent any damage to the front of the lens. The owner of a local store convinced me to try these out because they're made of brass and come with knurled features to improve grip and are painted black. They also have brass rings painted black and were easier to thread on and off as well. Unlike other premium filters, this one is much easier to wipe clean of fingerprints, oils, and salt spray due to its proprietary coating, which makes it optically clear and distortion free. It also has very little light sensitivity, as well as little or no color cast. The cost of this filter is higher, but you'll feel so relieved that you're able to clean the lens so quickly if you shoot outdoors a lot or you find yourself frustrated by not being able to wipe the lens clean quickly.

This is a mixed bag
3/5

A Sony 24mm f/1 lens with this version installed. In addition, the quality of the image is not significantly affected by the filter, which is exactly In essence, it will protect the front element of my lens for those like me who are prone to causing damages to It has the problem that the metal in the filter The lens hood interferes with it, making it hard to install. It's great as a way to take the lens hood off. I guess that's good because sometimes filters can get stuck, but every time I put on or take off the lens hood, it's annoying. It is for that reason that I would never purchase the same filter again.

Claims in advertising are not exaggerated A hyped event
5/5

NDs I have ever used are the best I have A ten-pack of the new book just arrived Filters should be turned off. The results were nearly indistinguishable. A grade of 0 means the image is very sharp, the contrast is excellent, and there are no discernible differences in color. The list was 1% shorter than expected The difference in color is 2%. There is dopey evidence that the problem could be related to a slight lighting change in the room or being one pixel off where metering was conducted. This is a great set of filters I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking to purchase them. to find that they lived up to the advertising claims, and the advertising claims weren't exaggerated A hyped event. To add a bit more information, a while back I purchased one of those $30 ND filter packs off of Amazon to experiment I decided a color cast would not be a big deal for what I'm trying to do here. There was a huge, nearly unfixable color cast when stacking to get 10 stops, but there was also a loss of contrast and of sharpness that was inexcusable. It would be fair to say that for the price, using a filter from this pack was mostly acceptable to give it a try and determine if you would want to invest in a more expensive filter. This is not really fit for anything worthwhile. I will do some better comparison testing within a controlled studio environment, and post a comparison.

Quality of the highest order
5/5

I was pleasantly surprised by the customer service. Formerly a photographer but recently retired, I wanted to start taking photos again. When I searched for landscape photography filters, I came across Breakthrough. CPL for my Nikon 16-35 turned out to be an excellent purchase as I read all the great reviews I tested it out for myself and found it to be quite useful. It was amazing how well the quality was! Now that I've acquired several filters (CPLs, GNDs, NDs, and UV's), I'll experiment with them. Customer service from Breakthrough is awesome. James spoke with me and told me it was possible there would be a problem with the 77mm CPL I bought for my Nikon 70-200 This lens has a 200mm focal length. It was to be replaced with a new one, (it has never been done by a company before). The pride they take in the products they sell is evident! Cassie contacted me a few times over the next few weeks to ensure all was well and that I was happy with my new CPL position. My experience with this company's customer service is far superior to what I have ever received in the past. Many thanks to Breakthrough Photography not only for their quality product, but also for the quality of the people they In his words "George.
