This is not a mini card; while it is small (roughly the size of a penny), it has been around for a long time and was used in some Olympus and Fuji cameras. It's unrelated to SD cards in any way.

Of course, it functions, but the cost is exorbitant. Olympus appears to be taking advantage of the fact that this Mini SD format is only used by a few cameras, inflating the price significantly. I wasn't aware of this when I purchased the camera, which is otherwise quite good. The memory, however, is three years old. The price is four times what it should be.
I appreciate your prompt response in attempting to assist me with my issue. However, the memory cards were not without flaws; the first one, which displays Error Card on the monitor indicator, will not lock into the compartment when inserted. When I tried to unlock the second one that I recently received, it would not eject, so I had to pull it out with tweezers. These two cards appear to be from a batch of rejected cards that were repackaged and resold. After reviewing the last picture, I was able to take pictures with the second memory card, but it still registers Error Card on the monitor. I'm going to try using this card and see how many photos I can get before it dies. br>Many thanks for your efforts to assist me.

Olympus DSLRs are on their way up. xD cards aren't the fastest or most practical storage medium. Personally, I think they're too small and too easy to misplace. Olympus DSLRs, on the other hand, have two card slots, one for CF and one for xD. Getting a 2GB xD is a cheap insurance policy that you'll still have 2GB in the camera if you leave the CF at home by accident. br>In addition, the extra 2GB can come in handy if you shoot more than you anticipated at an event. Finally, I've heard of people being stopped by overzealous security guards or police officers while shooting buildings, and when asked to delete images, they agreed and presented the empty xD as evidence.

This Olympus Flash Memory Card has proven to be extremely durable.
The memory card is in good working order and appears to save images fairly quickly. I'm a little disappointed that in our new Olympus Stylus Rough 8000, I won't be able to use a standard SD memory card. I'm also disappointed that Olympus only offers this camera with a 2 GB memory card. A class 6 4 or 8 GB would have been ideal for me. Apart from that, if all you need is a 2 gigabyte card that runs quickly, it'll suffice.
