Without cotton fibers, swabs are used to clean

For cleaning shutter blades on old cameras and lenses, I use these. The cotton fibers in the swabs would sometimes cling to the blades when I used ordinary cotton swabs with lighter fluid. While cleaning equipment with harsh solvents, these will not dissolve. They are a much more effective cleaning solution.

Microfiber cleaning swabs are perfect for cleaning delicate electronics because they leave no lint behind. This method is used to remove old heatsink paste before applying new heatsink compound to the processor. It worked well and left no residue behind.
