This worked as expected and with no issues after running for over two hours without problems. It was much less expensive than the one from Nikon, and (even more importantly) could be delivered to me in much more short time than the original Nikon. -Just remember there is no battery in this, so don't try to use it while you have it in If you unplug this, your camera will stop working. If you're not going to walk around with your camera, this can be a good solution since you don't have to change the battery to charge it.

The replacement part that was sent to me was also not successful after the original part failed to arrive

This is not at all what I wanted. Having bought a second adapter after my first one failed, it too then failed and was partially replaced, but it also failed much more quickly.

It's a little pricey, but if you have a Nikon D5200 DSLR, it works perfectly

The camera is a bit pricey, but works with my D5200. I only wish that there was a firmware update that would allow it to record video longer than 30 minutes. "The d5100 uses a firmware hack, whereas the d5200 does not -- but, ".

It was dead when it arrived

A small spark was emitted as the device was plugged into the power outlet. I didn't turn on the camera or notice any other signs of life other than that and the green light on the block. The Amazon website is back.
