Questions & Answers

This strap appears to be designed for mirrorless cameras, according to the blackrapid website. Will a Nikon D500 with a 150-megapixel sensor be supported? 600 lens?

My camera is a Nikon 90 with a 70 - 200mm lens. 300 lens. The weight does not appear to be an issue, but the hook on the bottom of my camera came unscrewed, causing it to fall to the floor. Fortunately, there was no physical harm. I placed an order for a tether kit - which is unreasonably costly - to prevent something like that from happening in the future. Despite the product's high cost, I am a huge fan. It's extremely comfortable to wear for long periods of time. However, the tether should be included in the standard strap.

Is it safe to trust Nikon 200- Do you know what the difference is between 500 and d500?

This is what I use with my D3400 and the Tamron g2 150-mm lens. 600mm. I did get the small camera strap tether that attaches to the strap and fits on your camera body for added security. The lens, not the camera body, should be secured with the strap. This is something I use frequently and have never encountered any issues with.

I'd like to trade in my Canon 7D MII for a 100-megapixel camera. Not parallel to the ground, but facing downwards with a 400 mm lens. Is there a way to wear it with a strap?

The Curve Breathe is only compatible with the camera's tripod mount. Attaching an L-bracket is another option. Bracket for mounting on the side. One is by Legged Thing, and it's fantastic.

Strap is excellent
5/5

On vacation in Montana in June, I was wearing a 1st gen BR strap when I was approached by a man who turned out to be the developer and CEO of Blackrapid. He inquired about my experience with the strap, remarking on the fact that I was still wearing the original. I told him I didn't need to buy his new products because it was so well made. But it made me think, so I decided to buy a new one. It's something I wish I'd done years ago. The new one is a significant improvement over the previous one. I'm impressed by the unique features and high-quality materials that this company continues to incorporate into its products. br> It was a pleasure to meet the man whose invention solved so many of the issues I had previously with the straps.

With a large lens, this is fantastic
4/5

This camera strap is really cool. br>br>At first, it was difficult for me to figure out how to do it properly. Others, I'm sure, would have known how to put it on correctly right away. Allow me to save you some time and embarrassment if you're anything like me. If you're new to this strap and wearing it, here are a few key concepts to remember. There is an underarm strap. br>br> The front-row seat The "S" hook is on the back of the strap, with a plastic snap on the end. Remove the front-seat belt. end snap- Keep the rear "S" hook attached to the main strap by bringing it in through the main strap. Unless you're a flexible type of person, that is. You can't possibly hook that "S" to the main strap while it's on your back, unless you have someone else do it for you. br>br>On your body, the primary strap orientation is: The front letter on the strap is always in the foreground and must be facing forward. The underarm strap is made of plastic and snaps together. Look in the mirror to make sure the in socket is pointing outboard or to the side of your body, and the overall strap is slinging diagonally across your chest. If any of these three statements are false, you have worn it incorrectly. br>br>At this point, attach the underarm strap's snap to the main strap's socket, which is the one facing outward, or away from your side. br>br>I tried to do this with the underarm strap attached on both sides and it kept getting tangled and twisted, and I often found that I had the main strap oriented incorrectly trying to get the underarm strap fitted properly. I finally decided to divide the donning process into two parts: Put on the main strap first, making sure it's properly oriented, and then the underarm strap last. br>br>The overall strap feels stiff at first, but I expect it to break in with use, just like a new pair of shoes. It houses my Nikkor 5. br>br> With ease, I was able to use 6 200mm – 500mm lenses. Although Black Rapid recommends attaching the strap to the lens bayonet, which I have done, I have found that I occasionally switch lenses, so I may attach it to the camera body in these situations. In any case, it works, and the adapter does not untwist, putting my equipment at risk. br>br>Despite a shaky start, I think this strap is excellent and would recommend it to others.

The Black Rapid strap is truly the gold standard; I had put off purchasing one because I was satisfied with the Think Ergo Utility Strap I purchased from Amazon a year ago
5/5

I liked how the Think Ergo attaches to the camera strap brackets rather than the tripod mount like the BlackRapid. It allows me to access my camera without having to take it off my hip. Unlike the original camera strap, which chafed at my neck, there is no uncomfortable neck strap chafing at me. br>br>However, the more I used the Think Ergo, the more it irritated me. Two quick-release buckles were used to attach the strap brackets. I had to disconnect one of the release clips to be able to access the camera's controls because they were getting in the way of me using the camera. The shoulder pad was slipping backwards as well. br>br>When I found out that the BlackRapid has a quarter-mile range, it was a no-brainer. inch screw mount would also fit on the side of my L-shaped couch. I had full tripod access because the bracket did not bind the tripod mount. It is more durable and well-constructed. I was previously using a Peak Design clip that attaches to a backpack, but it was constantly falling off. Many people prefer the Spider Holster, which attaches the camera to a belt around your waist, but I think it's just an invitation to bang your camera against a door frame. The BlackRapid allows you to keep the camera on your hip, just behind you, and out of the way. You don't even need to remove anything to bring it up for a shot.

My camera's screw-in strap holder came loose
3/5

This was recommended by a photographer friend, so I bought it. the positive feedback I was out for a photo walk when it came loose from my D850! Fortunately, I was walking with the grip in my hand. I'm not sure what went wrong, but I'm very disappointed! When I lifted the camera to take a picture, the tripod holder screw had come loose! I also followed the written and illustrated instructions as well as two YouTube videos on how to use it. (Because the picture instructions were so bad)br>On the plus side, unlike the neck straps, it doesn't hurt my back. However, I'll have to return it to you. I'm not willing to take the chance of damaging my camera!.

It works if you're right-handed, but not if you're left-handed
3/5

I bought it thinking it would be fine for a right-handed user, but I prefer to have the camera on the left side so I can scramble up a hill or use the binocs with my right hand free. As a result, refrain from thinking "right - However, consider which side of the camera you want to be on. Postage must be paid if the package is to be returned.

The strap is comfortable, but the components are of poor quality
3/5

The strap is extremely comfortable, adjustable, and easy to attach and detach from large lenses or camera bodies. However, the safety it provides is only as good as the weakest link in the chain, and after less than a month of sporadic use, the carabiner protector on mine snapped (see image). br>br>As I previously stated, this has only been used for a month in very mild climates! I haven't been banging it around or flipping it open and closed for no reason, so I don't see how this could have happened unless there was a problem with the quality control. The protector is, admittedly, the least important part of the strap, but a poor protector degrades the item's overall quality. Replacement protectors are available, but they cost around $13 and according to Amazon reviews, this is a common problem.
