Material is very dense and heavy. It was used to line the engine compartment of my twin-engine jetboat. I made the mistake of using it on a hot and humid day. The butyl and adhesive had become soft and gummy, making it difficult to trim to size without the butyl and adhesive sticking to my knife and hands. On the bright side, the adhesion was incredible due to the heat. I used the S'mart mat RED 150 to cover the S'mart Favorite 90, as recommended by the seller. It appears to work well in terms of sound reduction, and I noticed a significant improvement over the original eggcrate foam lining that I removed.

Some reviews appear to be confusing the 90mil butyl with the 150mil foam, resulting in a thicker product at a lower price

Definitely not the samebr>br>The foam will help with noise a little but is more effective for thermal insulation, whereas the butyl adds mass, which is what helps with noise deadening the most. This product appeals to me because it is both thicker and heavier (90 mil vs. 80 mil) than its competitors while also being less expensive.

It's fantastic! It has excellent adhesion and a nice, thick, solid feel to it. It's definitely a step up from a standard butyl mat. As long as the price remains reasonable, it will be my go-to.

This is a brand I would never recommend to a friend. It was falling apart as soon as I took it out of the box. The majority of it had been ripped. It was ripping when I took it out of the box.
