Installing this little gem for on-the-go DVD playback makes perfect sense! I enjoy listening to high-definition live digital recordings of the best music, which is usually a live concert event, and having the ability to play the highest-definition DVD recording while driving is invaluable! Please keep in mind that watching the DVD while driving is not safe or sane, as it could result in an accident. Not to mention that if you scream lyrics from a great distance away, anyone driving close by will turn up their own volume to drown out your unformed ramblings. Your passengers, of course, will be ecstatic to demonstrate that the lyrics spouting from your mouth are, once again, incorrect.
So far, everything has gone well. I used a Pioneer AVH-100 to install it. As a video display, I use a 1300NEX. I powered the light with my reverse light harness and sent the reverse signal to my head unit with the red cable contained within the video cable. Although the camera is of low quality, it has a good field of view and is very useful when backing up. It begins almost immediately after I start my car.
It works, but it appears to have caused my head unit to stop working intermittently after installation. I believe it is simply a relay, and this one appears to malfunction on occasion, preventing the radio from receiving power. I've simply turned my car off and on a couple of times, and the problem has been resolved. Toggle switches, as unattractive as they are in a nice vehicle, may have been the better option for me.
There were no instructions at all! I've previously installed these, so you can pretty much match the color coding on the wires to the wires on your stereo! Price has remained fairly consistent over the last ten years, which is a good sign. There's no need to spend a lot of money if this will suffice.
I'm sure they're all nearly identical and should cost no more than a dollar each; they're almost certainly all made in the same factory. The instructions are a little shabby, but they get the job done. During the installation of a new head unit, my son managed to wire it himself. Simply purchase the cheapest one that claims to be compatible with your head unit. On behalf of all of these devices that are just way over-the-top, I'm only giving them one star. For what they are, they are reasonably priced.
It was a cinch to use. The parking brake wire from the stereo harness is spliced directly into green. Blue and black must use their colors to their advantage.
But, let's be honest, who wouldn't park on flat ground and take a hand break just to change settings that are second nature? Purchase it, connect it, and enjoy yourself.
" It took me 15 minutes to put it together, and the instructions are easy to follow. I realize that getting my radio out was the most difficult part. return to the Dash My son can now watch videos on long trips or navigate GPS maps while on the road. It always works without fail.
