It doesn't matter to me as long as both ends of your connection are made with the same strand. Because the wires are identical, either positive or negative can be used.
Yes, the wire thickness must be accommodated by the opening to the connection on the cab. But I had no trouble fitting it into my Klipsch.
Why buy new wire if you're already using old wire, especially if the old wire is the same gauge as the new wire? It's possible that splicing the old wire will result in a weak connection.
It's 14 AWG, not 20 AWG, which is thicker (and better).

Before installing CCA wire in your vehicle, please do your research. As the price of copper rises, it is being sold in greater numbers. I had no idea what the difference between Copper Clad Aluminum (CCA) and Oxygen-Free Aluminum (OFA) was at first. The conductive capacity of CCA wire is lower than that of OFC wire. As you apply more current to CCA, the temperature of the wire rises, increasing the resistance of the wire, resulting in a voltage drop and an increase in generated heat, so you may notice a voltage drop and an increase in generated heat as a result of the CCA. This was particularly disappointing because I had just finished using CCA to install my new car speakers. However, knowing that there could be some potentially problematic heat generation in my car's door panel and floor, I decided that I did not want to be driving down the road with my family in the car. This is very good speaker wire for the price; I debated the price because I could have purchased less expensive wire; however, I went under some seat cushions and purchased this wire; once again, this is me now; very good wire for the price.
The jacket is made of soft plastic. These are simply good quality speaker wires with good copper for sound that are flexible but feel sturdy and will last. br>br>I used these on my home theater system, from the receiver to the satellites, and have had no problems so far. They're also soft and flexible, allowing me to bend them and hide them beneath my rug.
