An open side splits length wise and the hinged side is hinged on the other. Perhaps you will need to use a blade along the edge to help pop the two dimples along the side open.
The long axis of a ferrite is halved
Having used them, they seem to have significantly reduced noise, but I would not recommend buying the product.

It was so noisy that I was waking up constantly due to the Morse code transmissions heard from my downstairs neighbor on the speakers in my bedroom which I use to play white noise at night. I ordered these on the recommendation of a member of my ham radio group. Although I had to use the whole set and it worked better when I wrapped the cord around multiple times rather than just snapping on the small ones, I'm not being jolted awake by taping all night long and I'm not having to ask my neighbor to fix his antenna. For keeping the peace in the neighborhood, the cost is well worth it.
Those who love audio will love this app. The difference in sound on your speaker wires will truly be noticeable if you use these for long runs. It's a great old time fix for any issues living in a townhouse will cause. I've used them for literally years on my power cables and speakers cables. There are things that everyone has, and it leads to problems for everyone and everything. It doesn't matter. People don't care. If you want to be smart, you need to ask. Doesn't an antenna resemble a speaker? Right, and one way to stop the antenna effect is to use ferrites!! The magnets work to keep it from happening! I feel like it's from a long ago time.
This is what I put on my cell phone charger wire and my motorcycle's headphone wire in order to use my cell phone as a GPS and music player. When I was riding on my helmet, I heard a lot of alternator and ignition system whine coming from my cell phone. I put 2 of these on the USB charging wire as well as the headphone wire and it eliminated probably 75% of the noise. Good size selection and they clip securely.
These are placed on the power leads to my cheap LED headlight bulbs and the power leads to the stereo so that radio interference is eliminated. It's the cheap cooling fans that caused the headlight bulbs to go out. This had a large impact on the amount of noise I was hearing. I still hear some noise when I'm on the edge of the FM reception area, but I think this was an easy solution to the problem.
Snaps easily with no tools required Based on the diameter of the wire / wire insulation.
The speakers in my computer picked up AM stations from time to time. The most annoying thing ever. This sounds like a pair of these were wrapped around the wire in, so I put them in without hearing anything. It's a success, in my opinion. Also, they came in lots of quantities for the price I paid. It would be nice to have the same treatment for my car's bluetooth receiver.
My ears do not seem to be able to cope with any more noise after I put these The LED headlights, fog lights, and light bar that I installed are all LEDs. Each time I turned any of the above units on, there was interference on the radio. As well as the alternator noise, I also got it after installing these. It didn't work on the electrical wire running to the light, at the relay, or over the wire loom, no matter how big or small. Using halogens again without the noise is now the norm.
After reading some of the reviews I have seen on here, I believe they might work for other applications as well. I tried them with 3 connected on the same line, but they did not work for me. The magnets you used aren't as strong as you might think, so I'm not sure if that will work. It is hard to feel the magnetic pull when touching a magnetic object to one of them.
