I used them to stop a light from interfering with the radio on my airplane. I did a quick Google search and discovered they don't work. It was really nice working with them. I have almost eliminated all of the static. The beads I have left are over twenty. As for the tape, I didn't try to apply it yet since my interference level is quite high. I had also bought the tape, but I haven't tried it Electromagnetic interference can be blocked by the shield. Depending on how other things are interfering, it may not work. You can usually see them plugged into televisions or radios, as well as laptop computers. I hope you find it useful
Ferrites are of a different size according to the size of the cable they wrap For that reason, there are a number of sizes to choose from.

With the price at $5, I gave the software a 5 out of 5. Just keep in mind that your results will also depend on the quality of the cable you are using. It is terribly annoying to experience FM RFI (radio frequency interference) on my XLR cables since I live in a city. At normal recording levels, you can hear RFI clearly on both of my cables, as no ferrite choke was used. The chokes on my Hosa cable make it less noticeable at the recording level, but there are still bits of noise on the recordings (even after noise reduction is applied). After noise reduction on my World's Best Gotham Star Quad cable, the chokes often keep the RFI from becoming audible, even if you slap on an amplification of 50db. As a hint, I had the best results running the doubled cable through two chokes, making two loops in each cable. If I put a choke on the cable at either end, it didn't do much for me, even if it is undoubled. There are some problems with them. They tend to feel cheap and jagged, so it can be hard to snap and un-snap them. It is only if I do too much that I may break some of them. As a matter of fact Thirty chokes were $13, so I did not mind. All of the ones I have used have arrived whole and have worked well.
Since I've never used any of them, I can't say if I've experienced any. When I come to a situation where I will need to step up, I am ready to do so.
