I have done this three times now and this works like a charm. It's far more convenient and less expensive than buying a new fan or paying an electrician to fix it. However, remember to keep your old capacitor as a reference for the color of the wire. It is likely that I (meaning my wife) threw away the old one. As for my project, my wire colors were completely different and I had to pull apart another fan in another room to figure out which wires were the color purple, which were yellow, which were white, and so on. Otherwise, this is a very inexpensive.
During the installation of my ceiling fan, I discovered two capacitors, each with a value of There is a dual value of 4 as well as a 5uf. The five UFs and six UFs. This is all. had only been down to one speed and so I thought that replacing these ought to fix the issue as has been suggested all over the internet. I replaced both of them and it works perfectly now.
I replaced the fan switch first, but it did not work. I tried this next and the problem was Connectors were twisted together after cutting off the wires from the old one, and tape was applied Colors on the old one were very difficult to determine, so they ended up just connecting in the same order in the new one.
There are all speeds that work fine and I could not be happier because I did not have to purchase If you take notes or pictures of the wiring, you'll be able to figure out how to wire the new capacitor up correctly. There are different colors on the wires than on.
My house is full of these fans, a few of which are getting slow to start or humming slightly. These capacitors will fix the problem for me. My fans are about 20 years old, but they're in great shape and I installed lighting kits on all of them 16 years ago when I moved into my house.
It could not get much better than this, could it?.
The part is of good quality. It is easy to install and works fine. The company is also good to work.
I haven't tested it yet, but everything appears to be There is no guarantee that the colors will match exactly what you had. To match the color of the wire on your old capacitor to the capacitor on the side of the new one, read the side of the capacitor.
