Questions & Answers

Will this work as a replacement for the stock 7251V remote? What prevents the battery cover tab from snapping, as it does on the stock remote? Is it possible to include a photo of the remote's backside?

Because I had the same remote as you, the buttons are stiffer and the back isn't made the same, the remote will replace your 7251V stock remote. It's actually snapped together on the front and won't come apart if you take it off by accident. There hasn't been an unintentional start-up or any broken parts yet. It also made the rainy season in Miami a lot better.

Is the 5701 compatible with this?

Yes. The 5701 is the same model as the one I had. Because of its superior quality, this replacement remote is more durable and has a longer battery life. Not by much, but by at least two, possibly three months.

Is it possible to use this instead of the Viper 7153V remote control?

Yes, it can be used in place of the original.

Is it compatible with a Hyundai Sonata from the year 2010?

With the right Viper alarm system, the remote can be used. In terms of the remote, the car's make and model are irrelevant. Contact Viper for specific information on how to use a Hyundai, as another respondent suggested. Any vehicle, in my experience, can have a car alarm system installed.

I wanted to like this product, and I did at first
3/5

This was purchased to replace my Viper 5701 remote, and it does the job admirably. The pairing process was simple, and the remote functioned flawlessly at first. It feels more solid than the 5701, and the buttons are 100 times easier to operate. With that said, after only a few weeks of use, I've noticed that the "lock" button no longer works properly. It is pressed by you. and well. There is no action. You push the button once more. This time it will be a little more difficult. Nothing seems to be happening. My finger has to "dig" into the button now. It locks some of the time, but not all of the time. It worked perfectly when I first started using it; all I had to do was tap/press the button, and my car was locked.

GREAT RANGE, BUT IT SEEMS TO BE DESIGNED TO FAIL
4/5

A VIPER 4204V REMOTE STARTER WAS INCLUDED IN THE PURCHASE ON 7/2013. br>br>BAR NONE, THE LONGEST RANGE REMOTE IN THE BUSINESS! IT CAN BE USED WELL BEFORE YOU EVEN SEE YOUR CAR IN THE MOST LARGE PARKING LOT. br>br>UNFORTUNATELY, THE QUALITY IS NOT THE BEST. EVEN THOUGH I KEEP MINE IN A 3RD PARTY FITTED LEATHER CASE ON MY KEY CHAIN, THIS REMOTE BEGINNED TO GIVE ME STRANGE CONFIRMATION FEEDBACK (LIGHTS, BEEPS, AND CHIRPS) THAT WERE NOT CONSISTENT WITH WHAT WAS ACTUALLY GOING ON. IT DOES THIS CONSTANTLY, NOT ONCE IN A WHILE. EVEN THOUGH THIS 7254V REMOTE STILL STARTS, LOCKS, AND UNLOCKS MY CAR, IN FEBRUARY 2015, I DECIDED TO BUY A NEW REMOTE AS A BACKUP BECAUSE I DON'T TRUST IT ANYMORE. I AM STILL USING IT AS OF 4/2015. THE NEW ONE WILL BE KEEPED IN THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT FOR WHEN THE TIME COMES. br>br>UPDATE: July 13, 2016- I'VE BEEN USING MY SECOND 7254V FOR A WHILE NOW. MY FIRST 7245V DIED APPROXIMATELY AT THE END OF 2015 (AFTER ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF OF SERVICE). MY COROLLA'S REMOTE STARTER IS STILL WORKING EXCELLENTLY. I USE IT MANY TIMES PER DAY TO PRE-PLAN. MY CAR MUST BE STARTED. br>br>4/20/18 UPDATE - A PATTERN HAS CAME TO MY OBSERVATION. THERE ARE ISSUES WITH THESE 7254V REMOTES IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE 3RD OR 4TH BATTERY CHANGE. MY 2ND 7254V, LIKE MY FIRST 7254V, IS NOW BEGINNING TO DO OBVIOUS THINGS, SUCH AS PLAYING A SONG WITH A LIGHT SHOW INSTEAD OF STARTING MY CAR WHEN I PUSH THE START BUTTON. THIS, LIKE MY FIRST REMOTE'S FAILURE, COMES AND GOES, WORKING FOR A WHILE AND THEN NOT. THIS OBSCENE BEHAVIOR STARTED IMMEDIATELY AFTER A BATTERY CHANGE (MY BATTERY CHANGES ARE EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE, AND I ONLY USE GOOD SONY LITHIUM 2032 CELLS), SO I'M WONDERING IF THE SOFTWARE IS PRE-SET. DO YOU HAVE A PROGRAM FOR THIS? I'LL KEEP YOU UP TO DATE ON THE RESULTS. br>br>NEW UPDATES 1/27/21- NOW I KNOW FOR SURE. After four battery changes, these 7245V Viper remotes will fail. After the fourth battery change, the 7245V failed again. I've asked a friend's electronics lab to look for the chip's fault command, which is the source of the problem. We'll notify BBB and spread the word wherever it can be heard once it's been discovered.

It's a huge improvement over the previous model (7251v)
4/5

I recently misplaced the battery cover for my old 7251v and had it replaced for only $12 plus shipping. The remote's outer rim broke off at the bottom within a week, causing the door to stick out a little. I decided it was time to replace the batteries because they had only lasted about a week since then. br>br>The new remote eliminates the need for a battery door and is more difficult to disassemble than the previous one. The buttons are more difficult to press (which is a good thing because my old one was prone to being smashed and emitting that obnoxious loud buzzing noise). It has a nice rubbery/tactile texture to it. I'm reminded of the old Nextel phones when I see this. You can now pry the front off with a small flathead screwdriver, revealing the insides and battery holder. br>br>The package instructions for syncing with my existing alarm system worked perfectly. br>br>Advantagesbr>- It's a little more difficult to press the buttons, but they're still very responsive. br>- It has a more substantial and stable feel to it. br>- So far, it outlasts my old remote in terms of battery life. br>- There is no door for the batteries! Consbr>- br>br>- br>br>- br>br>- br>br>- b I'm concerned that after a few battery replacements, the plastic clips that hold the front on will eventually break.
- The innards fall apart when I take it apart to replace the batteries, and I'm concerned they'll break. br>br>Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase.

This is a poor substitute
3/5

This was the exact replacement for a viper remote that I needed. It was a breeze to integrate it into the system, and it performs identically to the original. If you're replacing a broken remote, I strongly suggest it. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> 02/01br>After each function, I kept getting a fault sound and a led light. Even though it completed the task correctly, it continued to emit the 2-error tone. It was not possible to achieve the way function. This is extremely aggravating.

I'm on my third one, but nothing else works with my car alarm (model 5701) except this poor replacement that is not cost effective
3/5

The first one took eight months to complete. The second one lasted a year and a half. It is difficult to replace the batteries. Even if you are successful in changing them, you will discover that your vehicle is no longer paired with it. Don't bother taking it to a professional because these can't be re-created in any way. synchronized with the vehicle you're driving When your remote's battery runs out, you'll have to buy a new one. As a result, DO NOT squander your time and money by attempting to use this remote after the battery has died. It's completely useless. Finally, I'd like to point out that the battery specifications listed on this site are incorrect. It requires one non-standard battery, according to the specifications. That is incorrect; two 2016 batteries are required; however, as I previously stated, simply discard it once the battery has died.

This is an excellent substitute! It's compatible with my 5101 system, and it's a great replacement for the old one
5/5

remotes that work in different ways Although the package does not state that it is compatible with the 5101 system, it is and it works perfectly. br>I like how the remote sends a confirmation message when the door is locked or the engine is started. It made programming a lot easier as well. It even includes a batterybr>br>It performs all of the standard functions and is ready to use!.
