I know these are expensive, and you could probably buy a RGB spool of wire and put it together yourself, but they are quick to install and have no issues

However, all of the splicing and heat shrinking takes a long time, and if you make a mistake with one wire connection, you'll have wasted a lot of time. To find it, you'll have to return to the beginning of the layout. So take a deep breath and buy these, is my advice. It cost me around $300 to RGB my 22' (7) LED speaker boat, including the controller, which, by the way, works great. So, after you've finished whining about the price of these dreaded cables, it's not so bad.
