This is most likely due to the fact that it is no longer manufactured. I got mine for $1 at a garage sale, including the adapter! It was created prior to the 2007 change in daylight savings time, as evidenced by the fact that it alters times on the incorrect weeks. However, this isn't a deal-breaker. It appeals to my tastes. If it had been $40 or more, I would not have bought it.
Unless they've upgraded to a newer model, this will only save the caller's phone number for future use and notify you when a new call with the same name comes in. caller's phone number - It will also greet you on a daily basis, wishing you well. the- Greetings for the day (such as "Merry Christmas!").

I bought one in 2008 (amazon can verify) and it's difficult for me to write about it. It appeals to me. It's fantastic. It cost me around $60. What exactly took place? I've seen these for around $300 on the internet. An eeprom error occurred as a result of a power surge during recent storms. It'd been going on for a long time. But there's no way I'm paying that price; even if it lasts for years, which I doubt it will, given the comments here, I'd like to know why it's so high. Amazon can confirm that I purchased one from sharper image in 2008 through this site. Three AAA batteries were used in my case. Others have rechargeable batteries (to keep the information current), which I've seen. Come on, people, tell me why this has become so expensive. br>5 stars for fun and utility; 1 star for feeling like I'm being ripped off.
This caller ID unit's concept is absolutely brilliant. I could sit and watch it go through its various patterns for hours, but there are a few things about it that I dislike. My wife and I decided to install this unit in our kitchen, and we can clearly hear the motor whirling even over the refrigerator's noise. The buttons are poorly designed, and you must press them precisely in order to receive command input. On the plus side, the instruction manual that comes with the unit is well written and simple to understand. It was simple to set up, and the unit even came with backup batteries. It looks fantastic and is a lot of fun to watch. I'd recommend it to others as long as it's not in your bedroom or another room where you prefer silence.

I've owned one for ten years and received this as a gift. It's a great talking point, and nearly everyone who sees mine wants one. I didn't have to pay much more than $50. Sharper Image is currently offering a 00 discount. I'm not sure why it's no longer for sale. There have been no issues with it.

It's wonderful not to have to get up and look for the phone to see who's on it; this illuminates and is easily readable from across the room, even for my 45-year-old eyes. We adore the holiday messages it has pre-programmed in it. It is also possible to program it on your own. If you try to operate it without first reading the instructions, you will be disappointed. It is well worth the effort!.
