Questions & Answers

What is the difference between this model and the previous one? What is the best digital phone that will work with this?

This version is a step forward from the previous version. By modifying the unit's power, the 202 model was able to work with some VOIP providers that older call blockers were unable to. It is pre-programmed with 5000 numbers. Instead of 200, the v. was programmed into the call blocker. 202 had. With the BLOCK NOW button, it can also block 1500 numbers rather than the 1000 that previous call blocker models could. br>As a result, it has improved, but only in terms of the amount of pre-production. The significant difference is in the numbers that have been programmed. br>Do you think that answers your question?

Do I have 1499 numbers left to block if my first action is to block all phone numbers within a single exchange of a single area code?

You do, in fact. So, if you wanted to block ALL Jamaican (876) area codes with preceding exchanges, all you had to do was type 876 as an area code block. However, I would recommend prefixing it with a 1, 01, and 001 because sometimes overseas calls are spoofed with Country codes that can appear differently on caller ID devices. As a result, type them in the following order. br>* * 7 (beep) 876 (beep)br>* * 7 (beep) 1 876 (beep)br>* * 7 (beep) 01 876 (beep)br>* * 7 (beep) 001 876 (beep)br>* * 7 (beep) 001 876 (beep)br>* * 7 (beep) 001 876 (

Why isn't it possible for 866- 828- Is it possible to block the number 9088? I know the area code and the 10-digit phone number. My phone continues to ring despite the fact that the blocker is set to a four-digit number. ?

In the United States, manually blocking calls is a common practice. Every time a phone number calls, the caller ID protocol is different. br>The number may appear as 866 828 9088, 1 866 828 9088, 01br>866 828 9088, or 001 866 828 9088, so you must enter a 1, 01, and 001 before the number. br>After that, it should be able to successfully block any calls from that prefix. I've said before that if you just use the BLOCK NOW button on calls, you won't have any problems; it's perfectly normal for this number to show up as a missed call in your call log, but that doesn't mean it was rung and got through. For peace of mind, scroll through the call blocker and see how many times each of these numbers has been blocked.

Is AT&T's wireless system compatible with it?

I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say "wireless." It is not compatible with cell phones. I am the proud owner of an AT Cordless phone model T. The CPR V5000 call blocker has performed admirably to this point. It has blocked approximately six calls per day on average. If I had to pick a flaw, I would say that the ability to display blocked numbers as 000-0000 is the only thing I wish it had. 000- 0000000000 is replaced by 0000. I believe that hyphens would make the blocked phone numbers easier to see. Furthermore, if the display had a backlight, it would be easier to see in the dark. Overall, I would strongly advise anyone who receives nuisance phone calls to purchase this unit, which is made in the UK rather than China. It receives a five-star rating from me.

When I first got this product, I was very excited, but When I first got this product, I was very excited, but there are a few things to keep in mind before you spend your money: br>This device "eats" the caller id number rather than sending it to your phone
3/5

This device will "block" your caller id if you rely on it. Second, after about 5 months of use, this device abruptly stops accepting ALL CALLS. I'm not sure what went wrong, but all calls will now be blocked. I tried to factory reset it, but it still refuses to accept any calls. I contacted their tech support line, and we tried a variety of configurations as well as a second reset, but it continues to block all calls. They said they would send me a replacement unit, but it never arrived. They are no longer returning my calls. br>WARNING TO BUYERS.

My sanity has been saved thanks to CPR V5000
3/5

The half-dozen or so robocalls I was receiving every day were driving me insane. My phone system could only block 30 calls at a time, and I had long since reached that limit. br>br>I purchased a CPR V5000. For the first few days, I was convinced it wasn't working because I hadn't received any robocalls. After almost a week, I am completely satisfied with the Call Blocker. br>br>I'd like to make two suggestions. The blocker is connected in series on my system. When I use the 2 on one of my extension phones to block a call, the phone rings once. When I use the "block call" button to block a number, I don't get any rings when the blocked number calls. When a call is blocked, I would have appreciated being notified. Despite these two flaws, I have to give the blocker 5 stars because it does exactly what I need it to. br>br>Additional information: br>br>As you may have noticed, my rating for this product has dropped from five to one. Last August, I purchased this product. It worked flawlessly until a few days ago. My friend had called, and I had been anticipating his call. When she didn't call, I dialed her number. She claimed she attempted to call me several times but was unable to do so. br>br>A short time later, I was unable to use my phones at all. I was going to get a busy signal. After my husband turned off the blocker, the phones resumed normal operation. When I attempted to reconnect the blocker today, I received busy signals once more. I tried the other lines as well, but they were ineffective. A $100-$200 piece of equipment, in my opinion, is a good investment. Expect it to last at least 11 months.

I bought this in August of 2016 and it only has a short working life for the price
3/5

I'd had enough of hearing the same political robo-calls over and over again. calls. br>I kept using it for all other unwanted phone calls. br>I began having issues with the unit in November of 2017. The most irritating issue was that the buttons only worked on occasion. br>After that, the unit stopped logging incoming callers. Even if the buttons were functional, the caller ID information was missing. br>The unit was simply turned off today. Nothing seems to be working. There is no'reset' button, and unplugging it for various lengths of time (10 minutes - 30 minutes) does not work. It didn't help after an hour. This thing should have lasted more than 16 months for the price of $100. br>I'm replacing it with a phone that can block up to 500 numbers and tossing it in the trash.

Wow
5/5

just wow. This device is incredible. I'm serious. Our phone rang at least ten times a day, and one of those calls might have been from someone I wanted to speak with. 90 of the calls ended as soon as I plugged it in, and I have been adding the others over the past week I have been adding the others over the past week I What is the best part? The phone does not "ring once" with this puppy, as it does with other blockers or the "block" from my phone/cable company (not VOIP - see below). Cox is what we use). It's inconvenient to have a phone ring "half a ring" before being blocked. Because it sits between the wall and the phone, it analyzes the number before the signal reaches the phone to ring it, which solves the problem. Technology that is amazing. We were about to get rid of our home phone because of the blind dial calls ("hello, this is Windows support"), the Out of Area calls, and the Political "can I have three minutes of your time" and then you spend 30 minutes listening to someone read asinine questions about a bunch of clowns running for office," but all of that is no longer an issue. I wish I could give this a perfect score of ten. My sense of self-awareness is gradually returning.

I couldn't get it to work for me
3/5

I, like many others, hoped to enjoy the CPR V5000, especially after reading so many positive reviews, but it has a number of serious flaws. Setting up or troubleshooting electronic devices comes naturally to me as an Electrical Engineer with 40 years of experience designing complex commercial, industrial, and defense electronics. When the standard setup failed (the base station's Caller ID was intermittently passed to my DECT wireless phones), I used the parallel setup to connect the unit. Despite the fact that all remote phones received Caller ID from the unit, When dialing out, the unit's display went completely blank, as if it wasn't getting enough power, and no outgoing number was shown. I took voltage readings from my phone line in several places around the house, including the one connected to my base station. Every location complied with FCC Part 68/TIA- 968- There are nominal voltages for both on- and off-the-grid applications. hooking and unhooking conditions for catching The inability to block calls that show "Out of Area" on Caller ID while the phone number shows a local area code was, however, a deal breaker. This capability is available from other brands. Furthermore, having 5000 fixed phone numbers is only useful if scammers and telemarketers continue to use them. These numbers will become obsolete at some point, and the only way to keep this type of device useful is to allow regular updates of threat phone numbers or to provide sophisticated programming modes that cover all known possible variations of Caller ID names and phone numbers. The CPR V5000 was easy to set up and use, but it lacked the robust blocking capability that I required, so I returned it.
