I'd return it because it didn't work with USB C and made no sound even when it was "blinking."
I'm leaning toward no, because it should be able to plug into the 3. 5 mm jack for sound recording, but you'll need a separate power supply to use it.
I've had good luck with the charger base that comes with most cellphones. I've had no problems with the one I'm using, which is rated for about 5 volts.
This should improve the sound quality slightly. They boost the signal by providing additional power to the microphone via XLR cables.

When you plug in the USB Type B to A cable (which is included), the Power LED flashes, but when you plug in a type C power supply, the LED light does not come on at all. I figured the Green LED light was supposed to flash, so I hooked it all up to my Mixer (which I bought as a temporary phantom power supply replacement) and there was no sound at all. There was no sound when I tried both XLR ports 1 and 2. (I purchased the model with two channels. ) I even waited a while to see if the transformer or whatever this thing has inside could raise the voltage to 48 volts, since we're plugging in a 5 volt source, but there was still no response from the type C power, and only a flashing green light when the USB B to A was connected. I'm returning this item and opting for a Focusrite instead of saving money.
It's something we're using, and it does the job well. However, it is not a source of power. The device does not have any internal power. It does, however, allow for the insertion of an external power supply into a microphone cable for a mic that requires 48v phantom power to operate. We're using this condenser mic as a wireless remote for iPhones, and we're powering it up with a rechargeable battery pack.
Overall, the item performs admirably for such a low price. When using this power supply, I have to turn my microphone gain all the way up, which isn't ideal (plus it's still too quiet), but that's to be expected for the price. br>br>At first, I didn't think it worked because it didn't detect anything when I plugged it into my MacBook Pro. This is because MacBooks and many other laptops don't recognize the jack that comes in the packaging because it's a 2. Instead of a 3, use a 5mm jack. 5mm jack, BUT I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING A SPLITTER AS THEY OFTEN DO NOT WORK, AND I DO RECOMMEND BUYING A USB SOUNDCARD OR AN XLR TO USB CORD, preferably A USB SOUNDCARD. br>br>Overall, a good product, but I will be upgrading in the future.
All I can say about this product is that it works; it did not arrive broken or damaged, but it is no substitute for an audio interface; the sound it produces is very quiet, so you have to turn it up using software; however, there is a lot of background noise when you do this, so you have to remove it; whereas a proper audio interface is loud enough and has little background noise, depending on the quality of your microphone. I purchased this in the hopes of saving a few dollars, but I received exactly what I paid for.
While this might be fine for audio, it caused a lot of RF interference in my Ham radio. The interference happened at the same time as the LED was blinking. I had to return it because it didn't comply with FCC Part 15 regulations.
Cheap. I would pay more for a product made in the United States and made of higher-quality materials.
This product does its job well; the sound is great, the noise levels are appropriate, and it's a great help to me when I'm making music. I would suggest that you try.
The flexibility of USB power is greater.
