The app works for most of its advertised platforms, but not one
3/5

As I expected, I fell in love with these right away. After getting them out, I immediately noticed that they had a flaw when I tried to use them. It appears that the trigger buttons do not work on the Raspberry Pi emulator station. Those can be mapped in retroarch, and they will function. It appears, however, that the left analog stick does not function in the PlayStation. It is necessary to enable something in retroarch that makes it work for PlayStation, but not for other devices, such as the Nintendo 64, for this to work. As such, I tried installing the Xbox drivers in order for it to register as a controller for the Xbox. I did not achieve anything with that. As long as I followed the instructions on the web page for updating the firmware, it worked. I suppose the instructions aren't useful on the website after all. There seems to be a specific reason for using the automatic firmware update software, which does not exist for the wired control system. The support team explained how to update the firmware to me. There is a lot less versioning for the wired controls than for the wireless ones. I don't see the wireless controls getting the same level of attention as the regular controls. When I asked them about how to change the modes, they said they couldn't do that. I was given one of the methods of changing the mode, but it does not seem to work. There is also no documentation in the information that is provided to you with the controls or on the website. This article does give directions on how to change modes for the wireless controls, but not the wired ones. There is a comfort factor to the controls themselves. You should not expect any sort of range from the triggers, as they are nothing more than Although that's appropriate for a lot of emulator software, it's not ideal for things like racing games, which use the trigger as a throttle that can have multiple values over a range of trigger pressure. There are no trigger buttons on these computers, but just other mapable buttons. That makes one wonder why they are even considered trigger In contrast, these holiday turkeys do seem to work quite well with my son's Nintendo switch, so that's good news. The timing of the event was also unexpected. As long as none of these are an obstacle for your gaming, then these controls will be ideal. However, I have Xbox style controls from a different third party supplier that have not had any of these issues. The triggers for them are also real triggers, which make them cheaper. The decision to return these is still up in the air.

RetroArch and Raspberry Pi 4 is a great match
5/5

With my Raspberry Pi 4 and RetroArch, I find it to be a great controller. The other controllers didn't work well for me, especially the PS3 controller, which behaved erratically. We couldn't get the PS4 to work with bluetooth, so we took another shot with this. This was as good as new right out of the box, and I did not need to re-install Streamline the configuration.

It seems odd that there are discrepancies
3/5

If you buy the Blue tooth enabled controller, the shoulder buttons should work, but not if you buy the wired controller. It feels a little weird to me. For me, the quality just doesn't seem to be Due to other reasons, I had to buy a Blue Tooth controller, which I ended up buying from a used PS4 controller store. My first attempt has been to connect that thing to all my devices, and it has been a great experience so far. It should be noted that I have not yet connected the raspPi. But I cannot think of any reason why it would be worse. I would have purchased used PS4 controllers if I had to do this again (I purchased two different color styles for my son and me) instead of buying these (I bought two different color styles for us).

The controller is great overall, but the cord is rather short
4/5

In addition to my 8Bitdo Sn30 Pro + bluetooth controller (which I've been using for the past 6 months), I actually prefer to use wired controllers since they don't get disconnected during inactivity (such as when watching videos). As of today, this controller is at least as comfortable to use as the previous one, and I am looking forward to using it for months to come In high demand This 8Bitdo has the same quality as the However, I do have fairly small hands, which may make it less appealing to you if you have large hands. However, it's still superior to the dinky Joy Con, and you can get it for a very reasonable price as well. The only complaint I have (and the reason I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5-star rating) is the short cord. I normally like to sit at least 8 to 10 feet from any television from 28 inches upwards, and this cord is about 4 feet in length. There is no way I can stand there with 6 feet. I had been aware of this when I placed my order, so I also ordered a USB extension cord, which should be arriving in the next couple of I'm hoping that it arrives at my house soon considering I have my Switch out in the middle of the living room while I try it.

This is the perfect accessory for any retro gaming set-up
5/5

It is not just the games themselves that constitute retro gaming It is vital for the player's experience that the controller is part of the final piece. The Asus Transformer Book is packed with a lot of technology, but it retains that 8-bit form factor that we have come to love A bit and a 16-bit While housing enough buttons to cover most classic console mappings, it remains a nostalgic throwback to the old 16-bit days. As a matter of fact, I believe it covers the entire range of controller mapping for an Xbox controller (which it also uses for its driver). I also feel that the build quality of the whole system is quite solid. In the past, I've had to deal with some pretty horrific situations I have used controllers of lower quality where the plastic felt cheap and the buttons were rigid to the point of being unusable, but this isn't the case with this controller. It feels more like the sort of first-party hardware that would have been used in the Nintendo PlayStation, given its layout. In addition, its compact layout packs so many controls into such a small space. This results in a bit of a cramped feeling, especially when you have to reach for the L1/R1/L2/R2 controls. I find that modern controllers make it a point to include ergonomic handlebars and shoulder buttons, but I find that cramped handling is only an issue if you're playing games that make heavy use of the whole Although I enjoy the ease of a plug-in, I do find that it puts me in a bind sometimes. A USB controller is much easier to use than Bluetooth, but the cord is too short for my tastes. An ideal length for my dedicated gaming system would be a foot longer, since I have it hooked up to TV. The controller overall is nice, I am happy with it. Although it compresses a lot into its limited layout, and it doesn't feature the same comfort and ergonomics as modern console games, I find it very satisfying to choose it to complete my console gaming experience in days long past.
