but un- It's difficult to recommend because of the necessary cost savings. I'm happy with the price, suction, and weight, but there are a few real issues that I don't understand coming from a manufacturer. The hose is way, way too short to be useful for a product that boasts "made with quality in the USA"br>br> As a result, when the unit is strapped to your shoulder, the rear/output will face the ground or other directions, blowing dust everywhere. br>br> There are no points to which the shoulder strap can be attached. (And, because the hose is so short, you'll need to use the shoulder strap). br> They don't specify the hose connector's diameter (so you can buy an extension) - It appears to be a "non-profit" organization as well. It's difficult to find an extension or replacement hose for the "standard" vacuum diameter (the part of the machine where you slip the hose onto). (For example, I measured and then purchased a craftsman 1 1/4" 10 foot vacuum hose extension- It isn't appropriate). I've done the math. Also, it appears that you'll need a hose that has 1. I'm going to try a 38" diameter (1 1/4" won't work, so I'm going to go with a 1. 5" hose)br>br>the hose that comes with it is 18 inches long in total (but only 12 inches of actual hose). You lose about 4" due to the connector and bend radius (which is standard/expected), but the problem is that you're left with This could be solved by attaching a small 45/90 degree angle pvc part to the rear blower and directing the output air somewhere else. *Alternatively, if they included a longer hose, this would be less of a problem.
It's been a lifesaver to have this with me at work. I replace computers or revamp locations frequently at work, and taking a computer outside to blow it out every time is a pain-in-the-neck. This is something I just keep in my tool bag, and it fills a bag that can be emptied and reused. used! br>When I'm working on a big project, I'll just empty the bags and use a needle nose to remove the rest of the dust. use it. br>br>I don't like the mini tool for keyboards and tight spaces because the vacuum gets extremely hot very quickly, and it appears to be putting too much strain on the vacuum motor. I don't have faith in it.
I bought this vacuum solely for the purpose of cleaning the dust from the condenser coils under my refrigerator (which are difficult to vacuum), which this vacuum does admirably. Note. Because it has a powerful motor in such a small case, this unit gets very hot very quickly. Because I bought it solely for the purpose of using it as a blower, I only use it for a short period of time, so the unit getting hot is not an issue for me.
Vacuumed easily for a quarter to a half-hour Remove about an inch of dust from fan screens and heatsinks. br>br>Before vacuuming, remember to tie down fan blades to keep them from spinning too quickly and damaging the bearings! After prolonged use, the unit can become quite hot, as others have reported. A rubber O-ring had to be added as well. Because it kept falling off, the ring where the hose connects at the front was replaced. The hose was uncoupled from the tank by the slightest twist because there wasn't enough pressure to keep it tight. It's still preferable to sprinkling dust!.
Not quite the power I was hoping for in vacuuming or blowing, but the attachments make it very easy to get into tight spaces such as between fan blades to dust on the heatsink and to clean around smaller sensitive chips and components. At the price paid, I am very pleased with the results.
Great for cleaning delicate and small areas like appliance filters, computers (of course), and other small, confined spaces. A good selection of attachment tools is available.
This thing has the potential to eat my SSD's data. It's also great for cleaning keyboards. within the walls of a tower.
