It really works! We cut the landline but kept a cordless landline phone system with multiple extensions throughout the house, which was a great solution for the money. This handy little box connects your cellphone to the cordless landline system via Bluetooth and plugs into the base station. It is not necessary to physically connect the cellphone to the box. There is a charger available, but you are not required to use it - So roam around your house (or leave your phone where it has enough bars) and make and receive calls using your old landline extensions. It's perfect for us, it's simple to set up, it's dependable, and it's only $23! If you want to get rid of your landline but keep using your home's cordless phones, this is a great option.

Only a few options exist for connecting mobile phones to existing home or office phones. The other "box" solution is nearly four times as expensive, leaving only the option of replacing any existing phones with a Bluetooth-enabled device. I wanted to connect my phone to a set of Panasonic cordless phones, and this box allowed me to do so at a reasonable price. This is an EASY solution. br>br> Three connections, a mobile pairing, and you're done. It doesn't have any of the fancy contact transfer to cordless systems that other solutions appear to have, so you'll have to manually enter key contacts into the house system or use voice-assistant dialing on your phone. br>br>The device's engineering is. odd. To begin with, the images do not accurately portray the size of this device - About 2x3 inches. It also has two oddly functioning status LEDs. I would make the red LED the power-on LED if I were an electronics designer. The red one is the "on/ready" indicator, while the blue one is the "paired/working" one. However, the colors have been reversed here, which can be a little perplexing. In addition, the blue power/on LED is oversized and extremely bright. as bright as a pocket flashlight (I tried it and was able to read small print in the dark). It's not something you'll want on your desk or side table, or anywhere else you keep your phone and house keys. base unit for the phone br>br>The only issue I had with the unit and setup was that my phone (an older Note 5) wouldn't re-boot. When you re-enter connection range, the pair automatically re-establishes. I assumed I'd have to return this device because I didn't want to have to manually reconnect or reset the phone every time I got home. However, the Note 5 has been known to have issues with Bluetooth connectivity, and in the end, a time-consuming factory reset and update was required to resolve the issue. It now reconnects to the Cell2Jack within a minute of returning home, as do the majority of phones. br>br>In terms of voice quality, it's no better than most mobile service and possibly a little rougher, but my house phones are primarily for convenience. The importance of keeping the mobile close to the Cell2Jack box is something that the creators do not emphasize enough. Place the charging stand on the same shelf or table as the adapter and cordless phone base if you want it to work properly. When you're more than 25 feet away, especially through walls, the voice quality and DTMF tone response start to deteriorate. br>br>However, in the end, it works, does a simple job well, and is less expensive than other, more complex solutions.
