Planetary filters, which come in colors such as red, green, blue, and yellow, are a good choice for planetary observation. This particular filter is good for removing light pollution and providing excellent details on the moon, but I'm not sure if it would improve planetary observations.

Selected User Reviews For SVBONY Telescope Filter Moon Filter for Astronomy Telescope Eyepiece Standard 1.25 inches Filter Thread Pure Optical Glass Lens Reduce Light Pollution
Let me start by saying that, as a 50-year amateur astronomer, I was never a fan of telescope filters (past tense). They block more incoming light than they show and are worth, was my old and probably out of date opinion. However, I have a lot of friends who adore them and have a large collection of eyepiece filters. br>br>So, why did I buy this moon filter in the first place? Because, while viewing a very bright half moon at the time, one of our club members suggested it during a star party, and he told me that they had significantly improved. I can personally attest to the fact that he was correct. The glare was nearly gone while viewing the moon, allowing me to see much finer detail and make out very small craters that I couldn't see before using the moon filter, and it did so without being too dark. I never used the old moon filter I had forty years ago because it was useless and too dark, but this filter proved its worthbr>br>I have enjoyed every lens product I have purchased from SVBONY, and this moon filter is no exception. Great products at an even better price. My only complaint is that the moon filter did not come with a spec sheet, as with all of my SVBONY lens products. br>br>Strongly advised.
Despite the fact that this product had only one review, I decided to give it a try, and I'm glad I did. With this filter, I was able to see the full moon in crystal clear detail.
They're nicely packaged, but they did appear to dim the image slightly. Since I got these specific to 2, I couldn't tell how much they helped without the moon. I tried these with 5 x 42 binoculars, but the moon was not visible at the time.
This is known as "moon and sky glow filtet" by some other companies. " It's not just about the moon; it's about light pollution. " This is an excellent filter for astrophotography, particularly of galaxies.
This is fantastic for planets and the Moon. When compared to much more expensive alternatives, this product performs admirably.
I live in a big city, so it was the best view so far for the moon and planets.
Filter is fantastic. It was a perfect fit for my eyepiece!.
