Selected User Reviews For SVBONY Telescope Filter 1.25 inches Variable Polarizing Filter for Astronomical Telescope Eyepiece
I tried it on the diagonal as well, but that didn't work. I tried the 2inch adapter as well, but it didn't work. The notched ring protrudes too far on that filter, and attempting to force it in will scratch the black paint off the side of your telescope or diagonal. To make the ring work, some people sand the notches by hand. I returned it and replaced it with the SVBONY SV128 Polarizing Filter. This filter fits nicely in the telescope, but the thread on the filter isn't made correctly, so it won't screw in all the way. This is something I'm going to keep because it's still useful.
This is ideal for looking at the moon through a 2-inch telescope. eyepieces with an inch focal length br>br>I use it on my 10-year-old son. I'm a big fan of the inch Dobsonian. br>br>Hint: br>br> The best time to see the moon is not when it is fully illuminated. The light is too bright to see all of the details in that case. 5 days prior to or after that is a good time to start.
They were purchased to be used with my Lunt Herschel Wedge. It's fantastic to be able to control how much light comes in. The wedge allows so much light in that it can cause eye strain. I can distort the image to the point where I can't see it, and everything in between, using these filters. You're ready to go with just a twist. The only thing that annoys me is having to remove the eyepiece to make adjustments. All you have to do now is find a comfortable position before tightening the eyepiece into place.
This filter is primarily used to reduce glare, but it also aids in saturating the sky and giving it a deeper blue hue. Also works well with tulip shades, particularly if your lens lacks an internal focuser. You'll be able to rotate the shade much more freely as a result. The only issue I have is that the filter can become stuck on the lens, which is difficult to remove because you have to rotate the front element. But, aside from that, everything is fine.
You won't believe how dimming the entering light in the eyepiece can be accomplished by simply rotating this filter. Dimming the moonlight has never been easier!.
To reduce the brightness of a full or near-full moon, I purchased this for my 8" Dobsonian telescope. This filter's versatility is a huge plus.
Filter is fantastic! If you use this Variable ND filter, you won't need a moon filter.
Very good filtering.
