No, you wouldn't be able to see an eclipse if you used this filter. A dedicated sun filter that fits over the telescope lens rather than the eyepiece is required. Sun filters reject about 99% of the light. 999% of the sunlight before it enters the telescope is lost in the telescope.
If you're using a standard 1 1/4" eyepiece, tube with a diameter of inch It should simply screw onto the telescope's tube's end. If the smaller of the two eyepiece tubes is used. It won't fit if it's smaller than 097". Please let me know if this was helpful and if it worked. This is an area in which I am unfamiliar. Good Luck
The variable polarizing filter is what I have. It allows you to reduce the brightness of the object you're looking at to a manageable level. I believe the item you're looking at only has one light reduction setting. I hope this information is useful.
When measured, the glass has a visible diameter of one inch. I estimate that there is at least 1/16 inch but no more than 1/8 inch of glass beneath the aluminum retaining ring, but it is impossible to provide an accurate measurement without disassembling the lens.

I bought it, but it wasn't enough to dim the moon when it was full; looking through it was still too bright, and it felt like I was staring at the sun in the middle of the day. A better option was to purchase a variable light filter, which is made up of two polarized lenses that are stacked on top of each other to create a variable filter that allows you to adjust the brightness to near total blackout. Now that I have that filter, I'll never use this one again.
This filter won't change your life, but if you have a super bright full moon or a super powerful telescope, it can be very useful for some casual moon watching. With this, I'd be able to see a lot more lunar craters. I'm glad I bought it and was able to use it during the recent supermoon. It made viewing a little easier, but it wasn't really necessary for photography because it's a neutral density attenuation of light, which is exactly what your camera does when changing exposure time to a shorter exposure. To summarize, I'm glad I have it and would likely purchase it again if I lost it.
This filter is exactly what I was looking for when it came to viewing the moon in comfort. It lets you adjust the brightness and contrast of the moon for a more enjoyable viewing experience. Looking at a blindingly bright white moon without a filter is just like cooking your eyeballs. The moon appears greenish when using the standard moon filter. This one doesn't, allowing you to gaze at the moon comfortably for hours while seeing more detail. Your eyes will appreciate it.
This filter, as other reviewers have stated, is filthy right out of the box. Before you use it, make sure to clean it.
A greenish tint is present in this filter. It will cast a green tint if used during the day (to reduce brightness). If you take pictures, however, you can easily remove it in post. br>I've also used it to observe Venus with my C90.
In comparison to another Moon Filter I purchased, this one is of superior quality. This is an excellent filter. In comparison to another Moon Filter I purchased, this one is of superior quality. Because the filter is threaded on both sides, it can be stacked with other filters. Excellent quality. I would suggest it.
All of that was altered by this filter. The bright light intensity was actually dispersed into a darker, easier to see scene. By removing glare, it also maintained, if not enhanced, the definition of the moon's surface. It's not so dark that details are obscured; in fact, the view is about as good as I can get with my gear. Stop staring at the moon with one eye closed. You cannot go wrong for the price of a candy bar.
Although I only paid $11 for this filter, it was not only smudged out of the box (as many others have noted), but it also came without a case. The wholesale price of a Filter case could be 25 cents. I'm coming back. I eventually came across an SVBONY moon filter with a case for less money. Their products are of excellent quality. If all else is equal, I'll compare and return the Celestron.
