Significant advancements over the previous model. Better locking mechanisms due to the addition of more metal. The receiving hole for the umbrella/modifier shaft perplexes me - There is no way to tighten the screw pin that holds the modifier shaft in place. Although the receiving hole has a small metal spring that appears to be designed to create friction, the shaft slides fairly easily. I've used this with an enclosed modifier (octabox), which works fine because the octabox's parts help keep it from sliding. br>br>In short, this is great for use in an enclosed modifier, but I wouldn't recommend it for use with an umbrella unless you plan on leaving it set up.
This item was purchased to serve as a bracket for the Godox V1 flash. Fits the flash perfectly and keeps it firmly in place! It's also versatile, as it has an adapter for square-faced flashes like my Canon 430 EXII, and the bracket fit perfectly onto an old light stand I already had, so it was a win-win situation for me.
It was solid and heavy duty, but it did not come with the gels that were shown in the picture.
The holder for speedlights is excellent.
The mounting with the Godox v1 is inconvenient because you have to apretar it too much so it doesn't move. I thought it would be simple to assemble, but it isn't.
If you use speed lights, this is ideal for you.
