Questions & Answers

Is it possible for Nikon to tell if this battery is being used in one of their cameras? This could be used as a reason to void a warranty. ?

If the battery explodes or you buy the wrong size battery with the wrong voltage, your warranty will be voided. Otherwise, it's just another moving part, like when you put a Sigma lens on a Nikon camera.

I only wanted one set, so I only ordered one. it was a success Today, I attempted to order a second set - They are unable to ship to my location, according to the order system. Hawaii. Reason?

How do we keep the two plastic tabs protruding from the battery well on either side from snapping off? Isn't it true that leaving a battery in there would deplete it?

Just keep in mind that it will not discharge the battery, and that it should not be left there after it has been charged.

How long does it take for the battery to fully charge?

I haven't timed it yet, but these seem to work well. On a single charge, it lasts for a long time. The charger, on the other hand, will fail before the battery does. Just don't abuse it, and it'll serve you well for the money.

The charger is well-designed, and the battery operates independently
4/5

There is a serious problem with discharge. This is one of those products with two sides, and the two sides are sufficiently different that you may not be concerned with one or the other. Continue reading to see if this battery and charger combination will meet your expectations or not. br>br>On the one hand, the design of the battery charger is quite good. We can count the fold out plug, which eliminates the need for another power cord, and the modular battery charger plate design among the Wasabi battery charger's advantages (and this applies to all of their chargers (and I've purchased more than a few of them). I like this feature because my wife and I travel with several cameras, and because we can detach the battery plates, we only take two charger bases and charge two batteries at a time; we've never needed more because the battery charger does a good job charging most battery configurations quickly. Another great feature is the ability to charge by plugging into a 12V source (using the included cable). A five-star rating has been given to the charger. br>br>A different story is told about the batteries. BTR- Wasabi's Wasabi's Wasabi's Wasabi's Wasabi ENEL15 has a score of seven out of ten. 0 V, 2000mAh (14Wh) battery to replace Nikon's EN-EL1900mAh EN-EL1900mAh EN-EL1900mAh EN-1800mAh EN-1800mAh EN-1800mAh Because the Wasabi has a slightly higher capacity than the EL15, you might think it's the better battery. That would be the case if the self-driving car was a self-driving vehicle. The Wasabi's discharge rate was comparable to that of the Nikon. br>br>Well, it gets even worse. I've used a fully charged BTR-X on more than one occasion. ENEL15 into the travel kit, only to discover a few weeks later that when I pull it out to insert the camera (in this case, a Nikon D500), the battery is completely discharged and the camera will not turn on. Nikon's EN-EL1 is a compact digital camera with This is not a problem with EL15. I've had the Nikon sit for many, many times longer than the Wasabi without any issues. br>br>So, the Wasabi might be fine if you use it on a daily basis, recharging every night (or day), and using multiple batteries, but it's not a battery that can be charged, put away, and relied upon as a backup battery for when you need to grab and go. On this point, I've had mixed results with other Wasabi batteries, with some storing well and others not so much. In this case, the two BTR-based technologies are used. ENEL15 and ENEL15 behave identically, indicating that it is a design issue rather than a manufacturing or one-off issue. a problem.

They've been decoded, to be sure! I'm not familiar with Wasabi batteries, so this is my first purchase
5/5

An 'aftermarket' EN-C is a type of EN-C that is manufactured after the original The EL15 battery is extremely difficult to come by, and the one I previously purchased was definitely not decoded (despite the ebay seller's claims to the contrary) - My D7000 was unable to recognize the battery or display any information about it, including the charge level. Needless to say, I didn't have high expectations for the Wasabi batteries, but the reviews were all positive, and the price for two was less than half that of the over-priced over-priced over-priced over-the-counter over-the-counter over-the-counter over-the-counter over-the-counter over-the-counter over I decided to give them a try because they were reasonably priced genuine Nikon batteries. br>br>The batteries and charger arrived quickly, and they both charged in the Nikon charger exactly like the original. I put one in the D7000 and another in the MD-2000. 11 grip; The D7000 recognized both of them right away, with accurate SOC and use data. I don't have any useful information on battery life at the moment - Li-ion batteries require several discharge/charge cycles to reach their full potential. ion batteries to perform as intended - However, based on my previous experiences, I expect them to perform identically to the OEM battery, especially since the Wasabi cells are made in Japan and are almost certainly identical to the OEM battery's cells. br>br>One thing to keep in mind - The Wasabi charger is smaller, but it isn't as sturdy as the Nikon, and the small battery retention tabs appear to be prone to breaking. I'm planning on keeping the Wasabi charger in my car as a backup. During road trips, use the included car charger cord to charge up. Three hours later. ******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** ******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** There was a problem found. br>br>I have a no-name aftermarket grip that came with a large li- In addition to the regular EN-Ion battery pack, there is also a lithium-ion battery pack. Holders for EL15 and AA batteries. I didn't want to bring a second battery charger (for the grip pack) on a long international trip, so I swapped it out for one of the Wasabi EN-100 chargers. EL15 batteries are a type of batter that is used in the production of electronic When the D7000 is set to use the camera battery first, both batteries are recognized correctly. When I set the camera to use the MD11 first, the Wasabi battery is recognized when I first turn it on and when I turn it off and back on after a short time; however, if the camera has been off for more than about 10 minutes, turning it on causes the battery display to flash as if the battery has been fully discharged, and the camera will not power up. The problem is solved by removing and replacing the battery holder in the grip, at least until the camera is turned off again. br>br>Certainly not a major issue, but certainly unusual behavior! I'm not going to alter my 5-point plan. Because this problem could be caused by the aftermarket grip as well as the Wasabi battery, we gave it a five-star rating. If I can figure out what's causing it, I'll update this review.

g. , Canon). g. D500). (as of April 2016)br>br>I've been using these in conjunction with my Nikon-equipped camera. For over a year, in a D7100, I've been using brand equivalents. They've always functioned as expected - There were no issues with charging, no unexpected failures, no glitches, and no damage to the camera. They are also compatible with the D7100's third-party battery grip. br>br>However, in my new D500, they *do not* work. It simply displays them as empty, despite the fact that the D7100 displays them as full, and the D500 refuses to turn on at all when they are installed. Moreover, even when compared to my Nikon-branded batteries, they clearly hold significantly less charge after a year of use. branded batteries that are even older (and have been through more cycles). When I first got these Wasabi batteries, they had possibly 90% of the Nikon batteries capacity. They're now in the 50s and 60s. 60%. My Nikon- In the meantime, branded ones have moved from 100% (my reference point) to,… likely around 90- 100%. With the official batteries, I haven't noticed any reduction in shot counts. Whereas one of these Wasabi ones is no longer sufficient to get me through a day of shooting. br>br>However, these Wasabi ones are a lot less expensive than the Nikon equivalents, and I've used them a lot (probably over a hundred major cycles on each one), so I'm not too disappointed. But, given that they don't work with the D500, I'm going to stick with the official Nikon ones in the future. br>br>Another point to consider: The included charger is noticeably smaller than the official Nikon charger and is compatible with both Wasabi and Nikon batteries. So that's nice; I've never used it with the 12V car adapter that came with it.
