The Mini SAS Multilane Data Cable is a single cable that connects directly between a SAS backplane of a hard drive bay on a server or workstation and a RAID or PCI Express controller. Specifically designed for mass storage interconnection between a SAS controller and SAS/SATA drive enclosure on a workstation or server, this cable is made of 36 pins and 80 ohms.

The SAS cable is a great internal data connection. It is convenient for the IT professional or the DIYer to use a flexible but strong cable for expanding storage capacity. It is easy to route the 36-pin SAS wire mesh inside tight spaces with the Mini SAS electronic harness. SGPIO functionality can be accessed and controlled over integrated internal sideband cables when connected to a managed backplane. A professional SAN network cannot function without this component.
On both sides of the SFF-8087 cable there is an industrial grade woven mesh jacket over shielded ribbon cables, fabric tape strain relief to maintain a flexible connection, and robust SFF 8087 connectors 36 pin, with stainless steel clasps to insure a strong connection.
There is one (1) 39 Mini SAS 36P Server Data Cable included in the package. The MINI SAS 36P 6G has a 4 in. diameter.

Drive bays on a T710 tower can be reached using this method

Changing the HBA IT mode card to work with the drive bays on a T710 tower is possible by using this technology. You should change the HBA IT mode card when you change.
