Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
The thick copper barrel ensures consistent, secure crimping, with minimal voltage drop, high current flow, and less heat. Short circuits and faulty wiring, which are common with inferior connectors, will be avoided with these.
Each terminal has a thick tinned copper barrel that resists corrosion and helps to keep the wire crimped tight. The barrel is made of a single piece of copper that is seamless, which eliminates the issue of the barrel opening. Your wire will never be able to escape the connector.
The dual-walled design of insulation tubing is unique. A heat-activated sealant lining on high-quality 3:1 shrinkage tubing ensures a secure seal from all sides. It's flame-retardant, water-resistant, and can even be used underground.
Our electrical crimp connector will ensure a strong watertight seal to ensure everything bonds correctly, whether you're working on your boat, vehicle, home, or scientific project. Red (AWG 22–16), blue (AWG 16–14), and yellow (AWG 12–10) butt connectors are available for use with wire AWGs ranging from 22 to 10.

Questions & Answers

What kind of crimping tool do I need to crimp these?

For coated connectors, make sure to use a crimped. They will no longer be waterproof if the coating is punctured. If that's not a concern, regular butt connectors are significantly less expensive. These are ideal for wet applications and marine use.

What is the minimum temperature required to shrink these? Will a hair blow dryer suffice, or will a heat gun be required?

Hair dryers, heat guns, lighters, and even a small torch can be used.

Is it possible to use a soldering iron in place of a heat gun?

With a soldering iron, getting a good result is extremely difficult. If you have one, a small torch is preferable. The right tool for the job is a heat gun.

Do you have the necessary certifications to use them at 120 volts and 127 volts?

The maximum current and heat loss are determined by wire size and material (ignore the preceding comment). br>Maximum voltage is determined by insulation. The standard household voltage in the United States is 120 volts. These are designed for 12 volt, sometimes 24 volt, and rarely 48 volt or other voltage applications in marine and automotive applications. I'd check with the manufacturer to see what the insulation's maximum voltage rating is. These are not intended for home use, and I've never heard of those voltages being used in a marine or automotive application.

I suspended a 45 pound weight for 24 hours using 16 gauge wire with one connector in the middle, and it simply would not budge. After swinging and twisting it, the wire finally broke, and the connector looks as if I just put it on.

They pass the Fluke insulation test when tested under water
5/5

As previously stated, I'm not usually a fan of butt splices, but when there's no other option, these appear to be adequate. I'm not sure how long they'll last in extreme heat or cold, or if they'll be exposed to chemicals like oil, gas, or grease, but they appear to be of good quality. br>br>I needed to use these on the underside of my truck, so my main concerns were whether or not the connection would come apart and whether or not they were truly weatherproof. I put one to the test by pulling the wires on both ends as hard as I could, and it held. I then used my expensive Fluke insulation tester to fully submerge the connection in water and conduct an insulation test on the submerged connection; there were no current leaks, indicating that the connection is truly water proof.

Amazing, low to undetectable resistance! To test them, I didn't hang anything from them or yank the wires too hard
5/5

I used these to splice an oxygen sensor connector to the wiring from the pcm/harness side of my car, but I did give each side a pull before applying the heat shrink, and the wires stayed on just fine. (When I replaced the O2 sensor and didn't secure it away from the exhaust, I quickly fried my old sensor connector; lesson learned. ) Anyway, I used these to crimp the existing copper wiring to the copper wiring on a new pigtail connector. A bias/reference signal is sent down to the O2 sensor by the PCM in my car. So I got 1 when I tested for voltage coming from the PCM down the sensor signal wire to the end of the repaired/spliced connector. 67V. I checked the signal on my undamaged 02 sensor connector, and it was 1. 61V. To summarize, using these to crimp copper wire to the copper barrel and back to copper wire resulted in no detectable voltage drop; in fact, my repaired connector had even less resistance than the unrepaired connector!.

These are extremely effective
5/5

I'm not a big fan of heat shrink and connectors in one, but I needed to make a few splice connections and decided to give these a try. Overall, the quality is good, and the shrinkage is good. One minor issue is that determining the center point for crimping one side or the other can be challenging at times. They are, however, excellent in every other way. Only on smaller gauge wires, where shrinkage is at a maximum, and I'm not convinced that a complete watertight seal can be achieved.

Excellent value for money
5/5

Great kit at a great price; prompt shipping and excellent vendor communication! I've used heat shrink connectors before, and these connectors, in my experience, take a little longer to shrink when heated than previous connectors. I'm not sure if this means they're of higher quality or more durable than the ones I've used previously. br>br>I like how the connectors are clearly labeled. Since I used these connectors for car audio installation, I haven't tested the "water resistance" and won't. However, I am confident that these will stand the test of time. Using these instead of traditional connectors and heat shrink tubing saves a lot of time and effort.

The quality of this product is so low that it could be hazardous
3/5

I believe these heat shrink butt connectors were of such poor quality that they could be hazardous. The insulation was breached as a result of the crimping. I have used heat shrink butt connectors for many years for marine work, and these were of terrible quality compared to the connectors that I have used in the past. br>br>Amazon, you labeled them as a best seller. br>br>I threw them away and bought better connectors at West Marine. No way, I'm afraid. It's possible that these things are hazardous!.

Good, but not exceptional enough to warrant a repeat purchase
3/5

I've been buying similar connectors from other suppliers for years at a higher price. These crimp connectors resemble the more expensive crimp connectors I've used in the past, but they're not as good. After I've used them up, I'm not going to buy any more. These do not appear to grip the wire as well as others when using the same crimp tools. Before applying heat to the heat shrink, I usually give the wire a quick pull to ensure that the connector is secure. The wire pulled right out of the connector in a number of cases. I went back and got some connectors from another supplier, and used the same crimper and wire with no problems. Crimping wasn't very effective. These connectors' metal doesn't appear to squish and grip as well as higher-quality parts. The heat shrink was acceptable, but not exceptional. The low purchase price and the well-distributed container are both pluses.

This is the genuine article
5/5

This is excellent. They are comparable to more costly domestic alternatives. The wire does not snag on the way in because the inner barrels are well-made. They will stay crimped if you crimp them. They shrank down tight enough against the matching sized wire jacket for me to trust outside, and I'd put a layer of shrink tube over the butt connector anyway for serious service (boat trailer, etc). However, with their own extended outer tube shrinking, they could stand alone in a variety of applications. I'm glad I managed to get them. They've already proven to be extremely useful.
