The shorter the distance, the more voltage is dropped. 150 amps at 20 feet, the less the distance helps. I'm not sure, but it might be able to handle a few more amps with ten feet rather than twenty. I would recommend you look into it, or request that an Ohms law expert weigh in.
The ideal situation is to use the cable type recommended by the manufacturer, even if it's not always possible.
As well as 4 gauge, you should run your amps on 4 gauge. The amps might not be able to accept 4 gauge but should, so you can use 8 gauge, but please fuse the 2 amps after cutting them down to 8 gauge. The fuse should be no more than 18" from the battery and should be at least 100 amps.

Several times now I have purchased this cable for projects on my Jeep, and I am very happy with the product. Wire was purchased to upgrade the two amp system on 16 FLTRUs. The system is noticeably louder now that the OFC wiring is better. I found the wiring to be excellent at a fantastic.
