It is stranded. It is important to note that this is not a 10AWG wire, but rather a 12AWG wire. Wire gauge (AWG) is a larger standard in the United States than it is overseas.
In fact, this is not 10 ga wire. The manufacturer doubled up on the insulation thickness so it would look larger than it actually is until you strip it down and realize it is closer to 12 ga.
I concur with the others that it will Nevertheless, this is cheap stuff with undersized (compared with AWG) wire, a thin copper coating on aluminum strands, and cheap insulation, so make sure not to solder, to overwire each circuit by two gauges, and to use good split looming practices.

When I was installing the very tail end of the roll, I found that the 'divots' in the insulation were periodic, with a regular circumference and their circumference was larger than the size of the roll, meaning they had been made in the factory. The installation is subject to corrosion and high current, so I am not confident in the 200' feet of red and black 10 gauge I installed but I will have to rip it out and start again. To me, it is certainly of no value.
There are reviews saying terrible things about this wire because they're used to 600 volt insulation and twisted wire. This wire has an insulation of 80 volts and is rated for indoor use only
I am a master industrial electrician with over 40 years of experience. There is no limit to the voltage of this solar system, as it will never go over 24 volts Due to the fact that it's only going to be 10 amps, it'll still be able to hold the 25 amps I'm required to be fused at. Due to individual runs back to a distribution block, I can use this wire, which has a better efficiency than twisted wire, since I have a separate run for each panel back to that block.
I have never used automotive copper coated aluminum wire before, so I guess it will take some time to tell whether or not it will be strong enough for my application, a 12V brake controller power wire. I used 10 gauge wire instead of 12 gauge, as instructed. From house wiring codes, I know a heavier gauge aluminum wire is necessary instead of copper wire. If I use aluminum wire, I would use it in an area where I could protect it from corroding and causing excessive power loss. It would be wise to use a good electrical grease on all connections to slow.
A very high quality product. DIY projects are a breeze with this product. A solar panel was to be installed on my truck and I needed thick wire. I was very pleased with these wires. The price was better than any of the others that I looked at, and there were plenty of wires for 100ft. They measured out the same size as they were.
There isn't a single sane wire to be found anywhere else. The wire is not 10 Gauge, as the picture on the left shows the wrong wire and the picture on the right shows the true 10 gauge wire. Secondly, the wire will melt and catch fire once heated (attached). This is a waste of money, as I will be throwing it all away. It is so ridiculous how poorly made this wire is that I have wasted so much time fighting with it.
That is an impressive wire to work with. I have worked with wire in all gauges and for various purposes. The experience of working with it was absolutely amazing - The material is easy to handle, it is of high quality, and the price is unbeatable. This book is highly recommended!.
It is a great deal to buy 200 feet of 10 gauge copper wire for $25. It is a bonus that the insulation is soft enough to make working with the wire in tight spaces easy.
