It's been awhile since I've posted anything new
In order to buy one I had to get one on craigslist and when I stuck a VHS tape in it didn't work so I thought maybe I should get an Amazon VHS rewinder & then I went on Amazon and bought one. The answer is yes.

It is an item that I would describe as chinsey. Despite what some may believe, it doesn't always advance tapes Even though our VHS tapes are old, there is still some information to be found. This was bought so that I could save a better unit (a VHS-DVD combo), and the better unit has no problems with the tapes There's a lot of work to be done here. I have to watch over this rewinder to make sure it doesn't tear.
There was a lot of good information in this article This is a used rewinder, not a new one as described in the It occurs about half of the time that the rewinder does not stop and pop out the tape when it has completed rewinding, but instead groans and rattles as it keeps winding. The machine will be used rarely, and someone will likely be close by to pop the tape out when it starts making a racket, so instead of returning it I am going to live with it and not bother to return.
Good old VHS rewinders for VHS tapes are kind of hard to find. I got this rewinder for a very low price and it still works after several years. Nonetheless, I think it is a satisfactory device for the intended purpose and have no complaints about its price or functionality.
Here we have a sturdy, simple tape rewinder for VHS. This software does what it is supposed to do. I am happy with how things are going so far. This would be awesome if they were still being made. In the past, rubber drive belts have worn out as a result of aging. It will be interesting to see what happens.
It is necessary to have the rewinder if you have a few hundred VHS and DVD movies. Radio Shak is the best adapter for this.

VHS tapes are easy to get, but DVDs often don't work, arrive scratched or start to pixelate immediately, so I have been purchasing them whenever possible. The Toshiba DVD/VHS player that I bought has a rewinder so I can avoid wearing the expensive machine out. This does the trick perfectly. I was satisfied with the price, but find it limiting that it does only rewind.
These were 3 of the boxes I bought There are two of them that do not work. There were two I had to return because they were so bad. We keep the 2nd one since it doesn't work right, and we have the 3rd one that works perfectly. In the end, I kept the one that wasn't so good At times, it works well, and at other times, it makes a lot of noise and the top doesn't close all the way, so it doesn't fit well. Only one of the three works
Oh well, that's the way it is.
