Is it necessary? Not at all. Although replacing the old heat sink is highly recommended, you should do so in any case. You increase the risk of the $200+ chip you just bought getting shortened in life if you leave the old heat sink on. If I was you, I would spend $15 so my chip wouldn't be so If any heat sink is connected to a CPU, DLP chip, or any other type of device, you should always clean it. In the absence of any chemical removal agent and if you have never removed thermal paste or heat sink before, rubbing alcohol would be your best bet. If it is all on the surface, make sure to remove it and allow it The easiest way to apply thermal paste such as arctic silver is to apply a very small amount to the now cleaned and dry area and spread out with a straight tool. It happens that a thick business card or scissors come in handy in a pinch.
Don't know for sure, but if the new chip replaces or supersedes the old one, it If you are interested in buying it, ask a supplier or vendor.
I'm not sure who to ask about that, but I would be surprised if Amazon or the vendor took the item back since chips can be destroyed by incorrect use but not look defective, so why would they do that? It's easier if you do it right the first time, it makes everyone's life easier!
In that case, all you have to do is dust it off with a camera lens brush if you have not touched it with your fingers. If wet cleaning is preferred, then I would recommend using alcohol and a Q-tip A small tip (only a few cents). A clean inside cavity is imperative for its successful installation. If it is not, dust will enter the cavity and cause 5 inch circles to appear.

The difference between a $2000 TV and one worth only $100 is immense. We noticed that the white dots began appearing on the 73" Mitsubishi WD 73837 (2009 model). It first started with a few and then it evolved into My order for this unit came All the items arrived in great shape and were delivered quickly. I have restored the TV to its original condition. It was a simple process to install. As long as you've ever taken a PC apart or put it back together, you'll fit right in. A similar process occurs when the CPU of a computer is replaced. Replacing any of those should be done according to the same principles as Please make sure you don't bend the pins, make sure you lock it in completely, and apply thermal paste sparingly (the stock install had a thermal pad between the chip and My particular model has some notes that may be helpful You do not need to remove the lens shroud. (This is stated in the ShopJimmy video on YouTube for DLP replacement on Mitsus. ) (2) Have someone to move the TV so that you will not have any trouble. The lens was cleaned with a microfiber cloth 3) I dry it off. In spite of being used for seven years, it had a little haze on it. The principle is the same as when you clean the lens on your camera or your glasses. When you return it to its original position, plug it in and turn the power on to make sure you did everything correctly. This chip is mounted to a PCB board that is I hold in my hands the new part. The model number matches, even though the lot and unit numbers do not. I have no problems with anything.
I originally observed just a few bugs, but by the time I replaced the chip last week there was a lot of activity. The picture on the new TV is as vibrant and clear as when the original screen was brand new, so I should have replaced it long ago. Despite my fears, the process of replacing my computer was not as hard as I thought. You can find several good videos on YouTube that explain how to do it (different Samsung models, but the process is very similar). As a result, it was a matter of being patient and paying close attention to where the screws and wires were coming from. To help me remember where they went, I took photos along the way. Before removing the old chip, arrange a fan to blow out any dust, as you don't want any dust on the new chip, or in the compartment in which the new chip will sit when it's As well as using a grounding strap and latex gloves, I handled the chip with care.
It works, however, the quality of the chip is not perfect. It has been about 5 years since I got the TV, and in the last few weeks I am experiencing an increasing amount of white and black dots on the screen. Replacing the DLP chip seemed like the best option. As a result of the replacement, all of the white/black dots on the screen were removed by the new DLP chip. Due to the new chip, there are vertical white lines evenly spaced When I put the old chip back in, the vertical white lines stopped appearing (the white and black dots reappear, though). As soon as I put in the new DLP chip, the white lines appeared again. The exact model of my TV was included in the list of supported for this replacement chip, but the chip does not appear to work. Online, some people have speculated that there may be an additional faulty component in the TV, but the fact that I can swap back the original DLP chip and the vertical lines disappear seems to contradict that idea. A quick update From 2013 to I received a reply in less than 24 hours from the DLP TV Parts Distribution Wholesalers that was able to accept my RMA for the white vertical lines on the DLP chip. They sent me a replacement chip after I sent back the defective one. This replaced chip had only one white dot defect close to the center of the screen, which was a good sign. When I installed it in the TV, there were no vertical white lines. In other words. To get rid of most of the white dots, I spent $214. There are some who will not. In my opinion, one white dot is worth more than several hundred, so I'll bump this review to 4 stars. The next time I see any more white dots after the warranty expires in 90 days, you can bet I'll be getting another RMA procedure A quick update From 2013 to In spite of my concerns that the part they shipped had a defect (single white dot), the Seller did not respond to my email. There is now a new white dot appearing on the screen after a month. Having contacted the Seller, I am now trying to arrange for another replacement. In light of the overall success people seem to be having with this part and replacement process, I wonder if the Seller I am working with has subpar QC The replacement parts are standard or not new. I updated my 2013 update for you As I installed it, there were no vertical lines or white dots. The Seller replaced the chip again, this time there was no vertical line or white dot. Overall, we can say this A defective DLP chip was installed in the first installation, resulting in vertical white lines on the screen. A defective DLP chip was installed in the second installation, resulting in just two white dots on the There was a growth in the number of DLP chips to three (1) and the third DLP chip seems to work without My goal is to keep my eye on the chip during the 3 month return period to make sure it does not I am going to up my rating to 4 stars this time, since solving my DLP TV problem with this chip was so helpful, but since I have not found a chip that seems to be extremely reliable I will not suprise you with a 5 star review.
It is a Samsung HL67A750-
I had a problem with white dots on my TV (white and black dots that appeared randomly on the screen and multiplied). The reason for this was that I had not used my TV for years. My decision was to go ahead and try to fix it myself rather than have Samsung send someone out to do it for me. By watching some YouTube tutorials, I was able to figure out how to do it. As an additional purchase, I bought an antifungal product I bought a static bracelet from another vendor, as well as Arctic Silver thermal paste. It took only those supplies, a screwdriver, and a little elbow grease to complete my repair. There is nothing I can do but be pleased with the quality of the TV picture. It was a great relief to know that you continue to sell this part. You saved me a great deal of money. Regards! I have included two photos of the TV screen before (with tons of dots -
) The old and the new (no dots seen in the after pictures) I have installed a new part).
