Besides owning a ProAudio shop, I also operate a web design business. In addition to refurbishing and rehabbing gear for our clients, we offer other services as well. Anything I use needs to be tough enough to survive road tours and rough handling. My cabinets are in need of updating, and I used multiple products to update the exteriors of them. I purchased this product to test it and see if it does work, It is about 15% more expensive than its closest competitor, starting with the price. If the product meets its purpose and is better than what it replaces, then that's fine. *This Granotone product is a little thicker than other Granotone products. Therefore, to apply it uniformly across a cabinet exterior, you will need to go over the same area several As a result, you might end up with an area that is thicker than that of There are products I have used in the past that allow you to thin out the product to achieve the coverage that you desire and develop your own unique It seemed like the Granotone product was water resistant once dry, and the texture remained the same when put on, but it did not seem as "tough" The surface was easily scratched and when I rubbed it against another cabinet (which is going to happen continuously during the "load in" and "load out") there was immediate damage. I then sanded it and painted it with several coats with the same result. This product is great for home use, and it's a great deal. Using this product for home projects is great if you want something that will repel water and protect your surfaces. However, if you want something that will be road worthy and tour-worthy, this is not the product for you.
Then, add this After I ended up using the product, I was impressed with its reliability. It's impossible to tell how long it's been sitting on the shelf after you buy it, so please check it as soon as you buy it.
I am pleased with the product overall. However, I wasn't able to get the texture I had hoped for, but I am confident that I will improve with practice. To get the glossy look, I did have to give it about 7 passes and a water wash. In the time it took me to finish two door panels, I used up four fifths of a gallon.
The results were blotchy and had a lot of roller marks on them. I am not satisfied with the results. In the past, I have had a number of other brands and thought that I would give this brand a try. However, I will now be returning to the older brands.
I am very pleased with the product and it is easy to use. The results could not have been more pleasing. It's definitely a product I'll buy again to use on future projects.
While it costs a lot, it goes on well and sets up really well. Like a bedliner, it really protects your mattress.
It was estimated that one third of the product was not usable. As stated, it is true and exactly what it seems to be. That's just what I wanted--a durable finish with a certain amount of aggression. One of the few complaints I have is that some of the product was hard and dried out. In the end, I could only use about a third of the container, and the worse thing is, I didn't have enough space.
