Yes, it is a very thick metal; however, I believe it would be dependent on the surface to which you have attached it. The unit, however, is extremely powerful in and of itself.
37mm/1. Pad to pad measurement is 45"
The clamp's wall and the edge of the securing circular rubber pad were both measured at 6/16 of an inch.

It's just a piece of metal and a bolt, but it's a good one. After I get the cons out of the way, I'll tell you why you should buy this instead of the BrainWavz Hengja, which is probably what you're looking at.
- The hanger bit isn't curved to fit around the headbands of headphones. It's not a major issue, but it would be nice, and I'd deduct a tenth of a star if I could.
- The threads aren't as smooth as they could be. This was fixed with a smidgeon of the millennium's worth of silicone grease I bought for three dollars a decade ago. For this, I'd probably deduct another tenth of a star. br>br>Why this is better than the other:
- The silicone/rubber (I'm not sure) padding on both ends (some old stock may not have this, according to reviews). If both clamp ends are missing silicone/rubber, RETURN. This accomplishes two goals: Prevents damage to the clamped surface and reduces the clamping force required to keep it immobile; with the Henja, you must torque the sucker down to keep it in place. You barely have to tighten past the initial contact with this one. br>br>- This clamps to any surface between 0 and 38mm thick. The Henja requires a minimum surface thickness of about 21mm before it runs out of thread and undoes itself; anything less than that requires the use of shims. This hanger is not one of them.
- There is no need for a finicky wrench or screw driver because this has a supersized thumbscrew.
- Things don't fall off because of the lip. br>br>The design is nearly perfect, but the product is already worth it. It would be perfect if you made the hanger a little wider, gave it a curve, and used better threads.
If you look closely at one of the photos, you'll notice a small valley in the grip pad, which I believe has an effect on rotation stopping. The bolt is extremely crude, which initially made me think it was overly simplistic, but it ended up being a very effective piece with no points of failure. It's a thick Billy threaded through the plate, with a metal head on one side and a free-floating Billy on the other. For the grip on the other, a spinning holder is used. I was curious if this thing would tremble in a loud bass environment, but it doesn't (these are currently mounted directly above a 2kW sub). I've moved these things around a few times now, and the quality of the service hasn't deteriorated in any way. br>br>I'm going to get more of these things if I get more headphones. Don't go for the low-cost plastic substitutes.
Because it was inexpensive and had positive reviews, I decided to take a chance on this hook. br>br>It was a good choice because I have a small tall thin shelf where these would fit perfectly. Two people can fit on each shelf. I can hang all eight of them and still reach the items on the shelf. br>br>I discovered that most desks and tables have a ridge that the clamp will not pass over. So only get this if you plan on putting it on shelves. I'll keep looking for something that will work for those, but I doubt it. br>br>After a month of use, the headband appears to be in perfect condition, which was a minor concern of mine. Despite the fact that there are four cats who want to play with them, Nother has fallen off. Installing, removing, or simply moving the furniture is simple. Use two headbands at once if you're concerned about stress on the headband.
Two pairs of shoes can be accommodated. This is exactly what I was looking for. Depending on the thickness of the headpiece, it can hold up to two pairs of headphones. Installing it was a breeze. So far, it's been great. It also has a semi-rounded edge. It is suitable for children. My 2-year-old bumped into it, but she was unharmed. It's not completely safe, but it's a lot safer than some of Amazon's sharper edge holders.
This item was inexpensive, but it appeared to be useful. br>I watched the mount hold, but slightly sag, after mounting it on a desk and hanging a pair of headphones. br>I went to bed after tightening it. br>I discovered it on the floor the next morning, with the foam grip material almost completely detached from the mount. br>I'm dissatisfied with the adhesive used because it weakened the rest of the project.
br>br>The hook is long enough for both my VOIP headset and music headphones to be hung from it. The bracket is designed to fit over the semi-circular opening. The pad protects the desk surface from scuffing and fits perfectly around the odd edge of my work desk. Because the desktop material on both desks is different widths, this one fits perfectly. The hook itself is extremely durable. br>br> I occasionally bump it while walking around because of the position where I have to use it on my office desk - It hasn't budged in the least. I'm not sure how much weight the hook can support, but it's strong enough to hold a couple of headsets. br>br>I was going to look for a double hook that mounts underneath the desk, but this is better than most of the other options I saw because it doesn't screw into the desk. Plus, I can easily move the hook and rearrange my setup if I want. br>br>For something as simple as a headphone hook, this far exceeds my expectations.
