Koss EQ50 3-Band Stereo Equalizer

My experience as a sound recordist means that I do understand how sound gear works. My objective was not to use it professionally but to improve the ability to listen to audio recordings that I need to listen to as part of online courses. The audio quality of some of these recordings was terrible since they were recorded thirty years ago. I bought this little inline EQ to try to make these old teaching sessions easier to listen to. I find they are a little difficult to understand in a few instances. As such, the Koss EQ50 works great for that. It is a three band EQ, so it is limited in how much boost you can obtain and where it will apply Those three faders are called Bass, Mid, and Treble. In theory, that should tell you what they are doing. You plug the input of your device into the input port and the output port into the buds or headphones. This is a pretty straightforward process. In addition, it is relatively inexpensive and works quite well. Those are all the details for now. The way these devices work is that they not only have a master volume control, but three individual volume controls as well. There is only one thing you can do, and that is to pump as much volume into the device as possible before you overload it with sound. You can reduce the noise produced by faders that way. However, since the majority of the noise in post is post master volume, there isn't really anything you can do about it. I recommend that you do the following If you need a booster for something like listening to transcriptions, or old muddy sounding radio programs, or old teaching tapes, this unit should be able to help For those of you who want to crank up the volume on your Walkman or iPod but still want to hear music the way it is supposed to sound, you should probably consider.

Throughout my career as a court stenographer, I've worked in a variety of environments, including offices, courtrooms, and conference rooms, and have transcribed many It's a very useful tool when someone speaks quietly, an air conditioner is blowing in the background, or the acoustics in the room aren't ideal, because you can adjust the equalizer band to achieve a better sound when transcription. This tool has been exceptionally useful for those times when you cannot understand what has been said perfectly, and instead of playing the tape over and over in hopes of understanding what was said, you may simply slide the bass, mid or treble to make the sound clearer. While I think this is an excellent little product, I only gave it four stars instead of five on the basis that it does not perform miracles, nor should you expect that at this price. Still, I can certainly see how it would be beneficial to anyone.
