The batteries are excellent; in fact, they arrived fully charged. charged. However, the description is unclear about what you'll receive, which is reason enough to dock a star. br>Inside your UPS, you'll find two taped-together batteries separated by a plastic divider, as well as power cables connecting the two batteries. I received two loose batteries when I purchased this item. This is not made clear in the replacement instructions. You must first untape the existing batteries (which is not difficult), then disconnect the wires. Then, using packing tape, reassemble everything with the two new batteries. Check out the images. None of this is difficult, but the product description is vague, and the installation instructions are vague as well. Please, CyperPower, make this better.
I could have purchased two RB1290 batteries for $66 on Amazon, but instead chose to purchase the assembly or cartridge for $90, saving me $24. I was defrauded - Please don't just buy two of the rb1290 batteries because they're a little difficult to separate.
Remove the old batteries from the UPS first, then disconnect one of the old batteries from its connection, then connect the new battery, red to red, black to black. Then, connect the second good battery to the first, red to red, black to black. Keep the plastic piece between them in place to make things easier. br>If you can separate the old batteries (and don't forget to take pictures of how they're wired), you'll have battery 1, red to the UPS. Battery number two, black, is connected to the UPS. The green translucent wire will then connect the black battery to the red battery. Reconnect the UPS to the wires from your new battery pack, plug in, and power up the UPS (I taped the new batteries with the tape from the original two batteries).
On Amazon, it wasn't clear what was being offered for sale. A plastic piece between the two batteries on my CyberPower 1350AVR routes the wires connecting the batteries in series. Because the plastic piece is not included with this product, you must carefully note how the wires are routed between your old batteries and connect the new batteries through the plastic piece in the same manner. Everything worked perfectly after I did that.
CyberPower is a popular alternative to APC because it is slightly less expensive, but the two companies' approaches are vastly different. 1) APC's setup is simple, and their instructions are easy to follow. These CyberPower replacements were extremely difficult to comprehend, and they were written in very small print. They recommend, for example, connecting wires of the same color (e. g. , black and white). , red to red), but they don't mention that they're part of a "series," which means the middle wire goes from black to red—a flat-wire series. If you're not the handyman type, this will be a contradiction. I was easily persuaded to avoid the brand in the future by the time I spent confirming that minor fact. 2) The original unit has a piece of unbreakable tape in the middle that connects the two batteries. The customer is not advised to keep those two original items anywhere in the instructions. In fact, I threw away the tape and replaced it with clear mailing tape. I was fortunate enough to be able to save it from the trash and put it to good use. 3) The tolerances used to connect the two batteries were tighter than they should have been, especially since a couple of wires had to cross each other. 4) The new black wire was frayed and exposed in the middle, and I could have received a nasty shock if I had touched it. 5) I had a smaller CyberPower UPS that needed batteries, but the company didn't make any replacements. As a result, I had to purchase a brand new unit, which cost twice as much as a battery. br>br>I own three CyberPower units, including the pricey, high-capacity model. This double stack was needed by a duty unit. Overall, I have the following impressions of the firm: Customers aren't important to them; sales are.
There has been a lot of debate about how to install it. This is determined by the CyberPower unit's model. There are a plethora of designs to choose from. The model I own is the LX1500GU. I've included step-by-step instructions for this model. They're not the same as what's been published so far. br>I did get two RB 1290 batteries in total. The old batteries were in the UPS one by one, without a separator, as stated in the enclosed instructions. They were then removed one at a time, replaced, and reconnected one by one. The entire procedure was simple and straightforward. br>These batteries come highly recommended by me. Of course, I was disappointed to discover that the original batteries needed to be replaced at all, but I'm glad it was so simple. Depending on the model you have, the change process appears to be more difficult.
When the battery in my old CyberPower stopped charging, I decided to order a new one. I double-checked my order on the CyberPower website to make sure I got the right battery. I was back in business after replacing the battery, which took a little time because I didn't realize there were two (2) separate batteries sharing the same port. Once I got them connected and inserted back into the CyberPower UPS, I was good to go! The first time you do something, it takes a little longer than usual. The next time, I'm thinking it'll take no more than 15 minutes. It was a wise decision.
This battery is a perfect match for the one that came with my CyberPower 1500VA AVR. The connections from the original battery were difficult to remove, but that could be a feature, and the power supply opened differently than the instructions showed. The replacement went off without a hitch in the rest of the process.
