Questions & Answers

We've been without power for a few months, and now it's gone. Is there something I'm missing here? turn on the light with force. thanks?

On my first unit, I did the same thing and left the battery unplugged. br>I went for a long time because the rest of the unit was fine and I was confident it would work in an emergency. It would never go into safe shutdown mode. br>Finally, I opened the device and discovered that the battery had been disconnected! br>Will make certain that the battery is properly connected on the next unit.

Is there a way to tell how many hours the 1500va will run? )For example, 100 volts x 15 amps for one hour? or 3 hours at 100 volts x 5 amps?

The 1500VA/900watt rating has nothing to do with run time; it is a rating of the maximum output level for a very short period of time. The BX1500M is powered by a 12 Volt 9 Ampere Hour battery, which stores 108 watt/hours of energy. Because the inverter (the electronic circuit that converts the stored 12 Volt DC power to 117 Volt AC power) is far from 100% efficient, and will not operate if the battery is near% The UPS will provide power for about 5 to 6 minutes at full load output of 900 watts before the battery runs out and the UPS shuts down.

Is the unit loud, i.e. does it have a fan?

On film sets, I keep it on my DIT cart. It sits right next to my laptop and drives, emitting a continuous hissing hum that irritates me. Aside from this annoying reason, I believe this unit is one of the best I've ever owned. It was very faint, but if it's near your head / eye level, you'll notice it if you're standing right next to it all day. If this unit were under a desk, near my feet, or somewhere else, the noise would be too small to notice, and I agree with everyone else that it is extremely quiet. It is determined by your requirements. It's an annoying enough hiss for me to notice because it's right next to all my accessories and monitors, but it's also quite quiet. So it all depends on what you want to do with it and where you're going to put it.

The error code "F02" means that there is a problem with the computer
3/5

This isn't a one-off occurrence either. I've had the unit for seven months and have yet to experience a power outage. The power was out yesterday afternoon due to a lightning storm. br>br>After a minute or two of operation, the UPS began to beep and display "F02. " "APC F02" was the first thing that came up when I googled it. This is a UPS "fault" that usually results in a return shipment. That kind of thing happens, I suppose. Then I began to read a growing number of links. This has been a major issue for APC for years, with no solution in sight. For my workstation, I purchased this UPS. For servers and networking equipment, I have four bigger APC Smart-UPS with network management cards. However, after learning how many people have been affected by the "F02" issue and how long it has been going on, I've decided to look for a different manufacturer. br>br>APC - APC - APC - APC - APC - APC - APC You have completely let me down.

Inadequate cooling was a design flaw that led to the failure of the system after only two months
3/5

This UPS stopped working almost exactly two months after I bought it. A temperature failure is indicated by the "F07" code. This appears to be a fairly common issue with this particular unit. I can get it to work again if I let it cool down for a few hours. I took it out of service and put it through its paces with a 340-watt load. It was up and running for a few hours before shutting down. I couldn't return it because it was too late, so I tried cooling it down with an external fan. With a 470 W load, it was able to run for 24 hours. I'll continue to use it with the external fan. br>br>The bottom line:br>Clearly, there is a design flaw here. The internal fan isn't quite powerful enough to keep the unit from sensing an overheating situation. If you're having trouble with this, try using an external fan.

The product stopped working 45 days after it was purchased
3/5

After 45 days, the product began to smoke and eventually failed. For more than a month, the warranty provider ignored repeated requests for an RMA.

Don't waste any more time attempting to make due with a
5/5

We bought this Amazon-sold/fulfilled item during the holiday season and have never regretted it. Don't waste any more time attempting to make do with a subpar UPS or one from a company that will not back up the UPS with its own insurance protection. (If you have homeowner's insurance, you'll be covered. ) In the vast majority of cases, it will NOT assist you or your equipment if you or your equipment suffers electrical loss or damage. YMMV. Given how much a decent and/or customized system and peripherals would cost to replace, you owe it to yourself to protect all of your equipment at all times. br>br>Our main PC is powered by this UPS, which has a capacity of 850 watts. EVGA wattage Asus M/B PSU with 32 GB RAM, 4 HDDs, and EVGA dual-GPU video card An AMD FX-based processor with a Corsair liquid CPU cooler. 8350, 8- In push-button mode, 140mm fans pull- vent with positive pressure- , a 4K monitor, and two USB 3. 0 ports 0 dock; The APC UPS never complains and, in fact, requests more power. Only 3 electrical 'noise events were registered after 2 months of 50% capacity and run time, which weren't enough to trigger the alarm; Turn the sensitivity all the way up in Power Chute when configuring the UPS, and remember to check it once a month. br>br> If you live in an area where storms occur frequently or where AC power problems (under/over voltage or outages) occur frequently, you should invest in one of these. We've never gone without a UPS before, but tempting fate is never a good idea; During any lightning storms, we turn off and unplug the system, and we have a second UPS for the TV, AV, router, firewall, LAN, and modem. (The UPS for the wife's sewing machines is a different brand. ) br>br>Not bragging, but based on my 30 years of experience building, repairing, and replacing systems, I believe it is best practice to test your UPS by fully cycling/depleting the UPS on-site. the chairman of the board When the UPS shuts everything down automatically, such as at the 5-minute mark, the acid battery is switched to the preset reserve. 7% mark and then fully recharging the battery before powering the system up the next day If you do this every few months, the battery will not become as weak and will last longer, whether you plan to buy a new unit or just a new replacement battery every three years. Some users have reported battery life of much longer than three years, but this varies by system, use, electrical demands, and other factors; YMMV is the rule. br>br>We were not fond of the blank AOC- Before the UPS leaves the factory for shipment, the factory techs always attach a QC paper test-slip to it. It was illegible to the point of illegibility. It was requested that UPS take a picture of it. Self- There was nothing visible even under bright light and magnification, so it was self-explanatory. Aside from that, it is a fantastic UPS. The only other valid complaint was that APC's website was in desperate need of repair. site, and make it safe and easy to navigate. friendly. The twenty-first century has arrived. The registration process should be a lot easier than it was this time, when we had to ask APC for a link to download the most recent version of Power Chute. This should be included on a CD with the UPS, as it was in the good old days. br>br>Given the equivalent number of trees consumed vs. the cost of electricity listed in APC's Power-Saving Calculator, The chute monitoring program, or whatever it claims we're burning, tends to elicit a pause for thought; Until we take into account the massive amount of corporate data- farms that operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 265 days a year all over the world We are still attempting to conserve while also enjoying ourselves. br>br>This is our personal assessment of this product or purchase; We were not compensated in any way for what we believe to be true, and we hope that this review will assist other Amazonians in making appropriate plans to protect their own equipment and making informed purchasing decisions.

My grandmother, who is 96 years old and requires continuous breathing of concentrated oxygen, may have been saved because of your efforts
5/5

When it storms in her apartment, the power goes out frequently, and she's found herself suffocating in the dark and forced to use her arthritic hands to open a portable oxygen cylinder on several occasions. She's never had a computer and has no need for one, but her oxygen concentrator consumes a lot of energy. The 900 V/A UPS I use for my computer only lasted 6 minutes under that load, so after some research, I decided on this product, which still only has a 15-minute battery backup. It will not provide continuous power through most blackouts, but it will give her enough time to check on her and open an oxygen tank or plug the oxygen machine into a generator with an extension cord. The battery alarm will also let her know she needs help if the power goes out in the middle of the night, rather than violently coughing herself awake, as she used to do. br>It took less than a month for this device to be put to the test after I installed it in her home. When the lights went out, she panicked for a few moments before realizing she could still breathe after 30 seconds. The UPS service performed exactly as I had hoped. She was able to maintain her composure and safety until assistance arrived. Anyone with elderly relatives should think about something like this, but you'll need to do some math first to make sure the volts, amps, and watts on whatever you're plugging into it will last long enough on battery power for your needs.

The dreaded chirp says, "RUN AWAY
3/5

" I've been an APC user for a long time, so when my old one died, I replaced it with a new APC. MISTAKE. MISTAKE. MISTAKE. MISTAKE. MISTAKE I should have paid attention to the negative feedback. For a few weeks, everything was fine, but then the dreaded chirping began. Every couple of seconds, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chir.
