There are no defects in the coating, but it is not the best. I've had my system for about a year now and it's been working great.

I looked around here on Amazon and found this seller who sold just the part I needed for less than $20 with few reviews after looking at the Brother replacement part (they only sell the whole assembly, the price for which goes for $150 at the time of this post). It was a risk I took, but my laser printer is now running at its highest levels and producing great prints. While replacing this part is a bit of a headache, it is well worth the effort.
My second of these allows the printer to cool down after every page without having to adjust the temperature. The printer now works as it did when it was new, so I'm not sure if it's an improved version. There are some problems with the installation. The drum unit is considerably cheaper than a whole new one. There is one in particular that causes the printer to go into cooling down mode after nearly every page printed, which is irritating. thankful that this vendor's unit does not have the same problem, and I hope that it will last throughout the remainder of the drum unit assembly's service life.
The roller I received had a rubber layer outside the metal layer. There is no rubber layer on the replacement part. Even though I spent more than an hour to replace the fuse, the machine still It runs a "Self Diagnostic" after 15 minutes, and then asks me to switch it off and on again. As a result of this, the temperature got too high without the rubber layer.
I bought it in January 2019 and worked well for six months, until the surface began to peel and tear. VERY POOR is how I would rate the quality.
The quality of the film was awful.
My computer might have been setup incorrectly or something, but I could not get the software to work. The indented page issue initially been resolved. It last for 35 pages before it recurred.
