I've been using one of the ribbons for four months and it's beginning to show signs of wear, but it's still going strong. As a CPA, I'm obviously a frequent user. These ribbons are in perfect condition.

Six-pack of cigarettes were purchased. pack. The print on the first new ribbon was so faint that it could barely be seen. I double-checked that the ribbon was winding correctly from spool to spool. I opened a second "new" ribbon, and it was even worse than the first; I've been using Sharp calculators on a daily basis for 40 years, and I've never purchased such a subpar ribbon. I wish I'd saved the old ribbon! Take a look around.
When using the tape, the total does not automatically advance past the tear-off point when you hit total. away from the blade To advance the tape so you can tear it at the right place, you must either hit the feed button several times or hit the total button several times. It irritated the hell out of me. br>br>Also, because the number display panel is blocking your view of the number you just entered on the tape, you can't see it. br>br>Also, the dangling thing keeps going into sleep mode, which requires you to wake it up.
As promised, the ribbons were delivered on time. The ribbons were individually wrapped and stored in a small storage box. My printer is a Sharp EL- The ribbon for the 1197PIII 12 key calculator was simple to install and functioned flawlessly. I'd have preferred to be able to order a smaller quantity of ribbons (3 instead of 6) if I had any "issues" at all, because I don't use my calculator very often. This is more of a personal preference than a defect in the product. In the future, the company might think about making smaller-quantity offers. This company and these ribbons come highly recommended by me.
Why is this substandard product an "Amazon Choice?" The ink is faint, very light, difficult to read, and the ribbon does not last.
When the ribbon is new, the print quality is low, and as the ribbon ages, the print quality quickly degrades to the point where it is unreadable. Buy this garbage instead of wasting your time and money.
Please don't misinterpret a four-star rating as a complaint about the product's quality. These ribbons are absolutely perfect; they work like new, and my print is bold and bright once more; Red has returned to its original color. However, these are ribbons, and those of us old enough to remember when typewriters were the only typewriters in the house can recall how our fingertips looked when changing ribbons. This is still the case. br>br>Exactly what I was looking for in a product. EXCELLENT delivery speed. It's impossible to imagine a better way to package something.
UPDATE: I've only had the calculator for a couple of weeks, but it's no longer printing very darkly - It appears that the ink has dried up - This ribbon arrived quickly and fit perfectly-- I was very disappointed because it seemed perfect at first. br>br> I am very pleased with the price.
This is not a purchase you should make. First, the package was misplaced. I had been waiting for nearly a month. They didn't like them, but the ribbons had dried up. I threw away the first one after only using it for two days. I tried to use it on the next one, but it printed so thinly that I had to discard it. It printed worse than the previous ribbon I had for a couple of months.
