Is it best to wash this pad by hand or with a machine? This mouse pad will work much better with my mouse with its cloth covering, but will be harder to clean off dirt due to its fabric covering. ?

All I have to do is wipe it clean. The product appears to be working well. It can be cleaned easily using a spot cleaner. It is possible to wash it on gentle cycle and air dry it without damaging it, but I have not done so.
