Electronic equipment AC transformers are connected to a power backup in a data center, test lab, or home office using an UPS compatible electrical splitter cord.

Questions & Answers

How many power cords do you have? Can I use a 6-inch splter on a 6-inch splter? Is there a power strip with a surge protector?

This is dependent on the total number of amps that will be used. Surge protectors usually have a 12 amp limit.

Are these listed with the Underwriters Laboratories (UL)?

As of August 11, 2017, these power cables are not UL listed. Signal cables (not power) and wallplates (e.g., UL-listed) are the only "Cable Matters" listed by UL. ethernet)

Is it safe to connect these to one another? Is it possible to get 6 ports for my hue led lights?

"Safe" as long as the extra lights' power rating does not exceed the rated capacity of the wire into which they are plugged. I believe that plugging both of these into separate outlets in a 3-way circuit would be a neater and safer setup. a three-way adapter, and combining the two into a single plug However, that single plug will almost certainly have a 15-foot cord. total capacity in amps The majority of rooms in the United States are fused with only a 15-minute fuse. total capacity in amps What are the advantages of LED lighting? It's most likely only one amp per person, so it's perfectly safe. To be certain, you'd need to crunch the numbers.

Is this intended to be used both inside and outside?

Despite the fact that it is a well-insulated, three-prong (grounded) cable, it is not suitable for outdoor use. If you don't use the best three, you'll be disappointed. Even if you leave power cords out overnight and ordinary morning dew forms where the plugs meet, touching the "safe" cable can result in a lethal shock. So, yes, you can use these at a dinner barbeque, but they're not safe to use when there's moisture, condensation, or if you're using them for an extended period of time. br> There are "outdoor" certified products that are water-resistant. Tight junctions and sleeves that can be safely left out in open areas. The majority of the time, there is only one cable involved, with no splitters.

I'm not an electrician by any stretch of the imagination
5/5

I should begin by admitting that I am completely ignorant of the subject of electricity. I'm not saying this is a bad review, but you shouldn't take anything I do as advice because I could be preparing my house to burn down at any moment. br>br>I'm plugging into Wi-Fi with these cord Splitters. To control the lighting in my reptile terrariums and aquariums, I use a single outlet, plug this into it, and use the splitter only for lights. br>br>I've been using the Wi-Fi for a while now. For about 6 months, use the Fi plugs. It's been about a month since I added the Splitters. and-a- It's been a half-hour now, and everything appears to be fine. Nothing seems to be particularly warm. Nothing smells strange, and no one has yet blown a fuse. br>br>Everything I own is Alexa-compatible, and it's all set to turn on at a specific time in the morning and turn off at the same time every night. The only time I've had a problem with it was when my internet connection went down due to a power outage in my neighborhood. br>br>Everything appears to be in good working order. But, once more. I'm not an electrician by any stretch of the imagination. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> I threw the Alexa smart switch into the trash. They couldn't be trusted at all. If Alexa is unable to connect, the following steps should be taken. Your lights and switches can't be turned off all day, either. When your tanks rely on them for daytime heat, this isn't a good thing.

Wall Warts are hogging the power strip, so here's a workaround
5/5

We can use our small uninterruptible power supply to keep our wifi, phone, and network equipment running without having to use two additional power strips thanks to these quadruple receptacle cords. These days, it seems like everything has a different size or orientation of wall wart, preventing surge suppressors or UPS units from being fully utilized. Purchased as part of a two-for-one deal. The value is unbeatable at $15 including shipping in February 2019. br>br>I wouldn't use these cords for appliances, portable heaters, or anything else that requires a lot of current. make a drawing application They're ideal for low-current devices like LED lights, electronics powered by "wall wart" power supplies, and possibly a few computers. br>br>The electrical prongs are chrome (or silver colored metal) plated, but the receptacles appear to have copper contacts. The dimensions of the plug and receptacle are extremely accurate and reliable. Strain relief rings have been cast into the molded outer case. br>br>These splitters are made of a stiff plastic. If they are flexed repeatedly, they are likely to split, especially in a cold climate. The cords will hang or lay in place for a long time without moving in my case, so they should be fine. br>br>Excellent value for the price paid, and very useful for our current wall-hanging situation. the world is a wart I'm glad I ordered four of these to combat the wall warts' emergence. They'll most likely last until we don't need wired power supplies anymore.

When all branches are connected, this is a good quality product to use for low amperage
5/5

With one caveat, this splitter cord is exactly as described and well constructed. It functions as intended, but keep in mind the total amperage when using all branches. Why didn't the experts at Cable Experts use 14AWG for the main connection plug and 16AWG for the branches, despite the fact that 16AWG wire is adequate for 13 amps maximum? This would give you a safety margin in case of voltage drop or overheating. Consumers have a tendency to overload electrical cords, so this would add minimal cost to the final product. This is well-suited to low-amperage applications such as decorative lights, table lamps, and AC adapters in its current state. Because the product is clearly described and properly represented, I gave it five stars. These are for low-wattage indoor holiday decorations as well as oddly shaped AC adapters.

External Hard Drives Can Be Connected to a UPS Backup System
5/5

This is the Y-shaped Y-shaped Y-shaped Y-shaped Y-shaped For my external hard drives that are connected to my UPS, I use a splitter power cord. Prior to purchasing the Y-Frame, make sure you have a good understanding of what splitter. For the large wall warts/power bricks from the hard drives, I used a power strip, but I could only fit two cords on it. Using this Y-connector, I can now connect all of my drives to the UPS with just one plug. splitter. The cord appears to be well-made and of good quality. It has a 13 amp/1625 Watt rating and is made of 16 AWG gauge conductors. Dimensions: br>br> The total length of the cable is 18. 6 inches in length The lead cable is 8 inches long from the tip of the lead prongs to the bottom of the splitter. br>br>Cable Matters also offers a LIFETIME WARRANTY. It's a New England-based company. Founded in 2009, this company is based in the United States.

My smart power strip and a few Amazon Echo devices are both working perfectly
5/5

Background information: br>br>I recently purchased an Amazon Echo Show (generation 2), which came with a free Philip Hue smart light bulb. This single light bulb was the beginning of a long journey into home automation with Amazon Echo devices. I now have 11 Philip Hue smart light bulbs, two Amazon and Kasa smart plugs, and a smart power strip in my home. br>br>The power strip (Kasa) not only lets each Echo device control each plug on the strip, but it also keeps track of how much power each socket uses. You can see the current drain as well as the number of hours the socket has been in use. The Kasa app gives you real-time data for today, the next seven days, and the next thirty days. br>br>Right now, I'm using the strip to keep an eye on my Dell Precision T7500 workstation (socket 1), all of my monitors (socket 2), and my peripherals (e. g. external hard drives, video capture devices, USB hubs, and so on). Three of my monitors were originally connected to sockets 2, 3, and 4 (out of a total of six sockets). The monitors' individual usage didn't justify taking up three sockets, especially since I should be monitoring other devices as well (PS3, TiVo, networking (modem, router, switch, etc), etc). br>br>How I'm Using This Y Splitterbr>br>I wanted to connect all of my monitors to a single socket so that I could track them all at the same time. This fantastic power cord Y splitter does an excellent job of allowing me to track my monitors as a group (without using three sockets or a three socket group). br>br>I can't say much about this splitter except that it does its job well; after all, what can one expect from a power cord splitter other than that it does its job well?.
