Questions & Answers

Is it possible to tell if these are copper or CCA (copper coated aluminum)? This question has been posed twice, but no response has been received. ?

They are UL approved, according to the packaging. Verified by the TIA Which, assuming the packaging is accurate, means they aren't CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum). ) Bending or plugging/unplugging cables more than a couple of times would cause CCA cables to break. They appear to be copper at the terminal ends, and short of cutting one open, unstranding all of the wires, slicing into each one, and stripping them down to visually inspect them under a microscope, they appear to be copper. Copper would be my choice. And it's not clad in copper. However, this is just one jerk's opinion.

Is this a cat5e cable or a cat5?

It's a cat5e network.

What are the pros and cons of these t-shirts that are wired? 568a (or t-) is a number that is assigned to a person who 568b?

If the description indicates that these are CAT5e cable(s), they are wired according to the T568B Specification. The following is a list of pins to use:
1- 3 Orange, 2 Orange 6 green, 4 blue 7 Blue, 5 Blue 8 Brown. br> If they don't match, they'll be wired according to T568A. I hope this information is useful!

Is this a 350 or a 550 MHz signal?

350mhz

Cables that are a little sketchy; It's likely that they'll be replaced soon
3/5

I had problems with some of these cables when they arrived, and I had to replace a large number of them. On these, I left a few 100mb devices in place, but they'll be replaced soon enough, and I'll need to upgrade my patch cords. I'll use Ubiquiti Wi-Fi as an example of a problem. PoE injectors are used in Wi-Fi access points. The APs would lose network connectivity frequently (multiple times in a few minutes) and all connected devices would lose internet connectivity, forcing them to re-negotiate with the next AP. The connection would re-establish itself on its own, and the Wi-Fi network would re-establish When devices detect a stronger signal, they return to the closest AP, and the cycle begins again. Although the power appeared to be stable, the Ethernet connection was about to fail. After a few drops, the AP would go down and I'd have to restart everything, much to my annoyance. I finally realized what was going on and replaced both sides of the PoE injector with new cables. Since that time, the APs have remained steady. br>br>Shortly after observing this behavior, I figured out why the signal was so bad. I wanted to make a few of them shorter, so I cut a few in half and tried to re-arrange them. the cut ends should be closed I've been terminating cable for a long time and have never seen Ethernet cable with such thin and flimsy wire. It reminded me of RJ12 cables with stranded cat2 phone wiring. Cheap cables taught me a valuable lesson. br>br> There's a reason they're so cheap. Better cables are available if you pay a little extra.

GIGABIT SPEEDS WILL NOT BE PROVIDED
3/5

DO NOT PURCHASE, AS IT IS NOT RETURNABLE. It is not capable of gigabit speeds. They have a maximum speed of 100 megabits per second (mbps). I used these to replace most of my hardwired device cables, and my internet speeds are now under 100mbps, down from 300mbps before. Now I've discovered it's non-returnable? I've been paying for prime for years, but I'm unable to return defective items?.

It Isn't Worth It - What You Pay For Is Exactly What You Get
3/5

AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE, YOU WILL FIND AN UPDATE: br>I'll admit, I was looking for some inexpensive patch cables to connect my home lab's rack equipment. I needed to unplug two cables after they were connected for cable management purposes. I was unable to unplug either cable. Both cables I had connected had tiny remnants of vinyl/pvc wedged under the clip after I cut off the boot that covered the clip. There was no way I was going to get rid of them without first chopping off the boot and digging out that scrap of metal. br>br>The cables were individually wrapped, and I did not inspect the first two cables thoroughly. I looked through the rest of the cables in their bags and found none with obvious flaws, but the boots do have small amounts of material that was not properly removed during fabrication. I'm not sure if these scraps will fall off and cause problems in the future, but I'm kicking myself for not investing in a higher-quality cable. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> br>I opened the third patch cable to use as a connector between the two halves of my cable tester. I used the test button as usual and discovered that pairs 4 and 5 were correct. 5 and 7- The number 8 was ineffective. After that, I opened all of them and put them through their paces. NOT A SINGLE CABLE HAD ALL FOUR PAIRS OF TEST RESULTS THAT WERE POSITIVE! Only by flexing the cable back and forth several times did I get three working pairs. My tester works fine with a known good cable from a high-end supplier (just to rule out the possibility of faulty test equipment). This item will be returned to me. br>br>.

EXCELLENT ANTI-INFLAMMATORY PRODUCT SNAG design, excellent CAT5e cable, reasonable price, and good value
5/5

The cost of network cabling is low. For the most part, it's inexpensive, widely available, and reliably performs a well-defined function. br>br>So, what distinguishes a cable? For me, it's the quality of the connectors and boots. The anti-, in particular. design flaws The iMBAPrice cables' design is excellent for avoiding snags. The hood over the release tab is a fairly standard design. The anti- The hood should be pushed down to release the connector, and the snag should work well. These cables have a hood that appears to be easier to press down than others I've tried. br>br>These iMBAprice get 5 stars for being dependable and having a good design for a common commodity.

I set up an office in a shed in my backyard and relocated a lot of my video game equipment there as well
5/5

I needed to run some Cat 5 Ethernet from a jack on the north wall to a router on the south wall, so I ran it along the east wall. Then I wanted to connect the router to two computers and two gaming consoles. br>br>These cables were absolutely perfect for that project; I'm getting around 100 Mb/s on all devices (my full bandwidth, which I pay for) using five of the cables I received. When I installed them, none of them had any issues, and they were all quite long. br>br>I'm extremely pleased with this purchase, and it was probably the best value for money I could find for my office shed project.

This is a fantastic tool for networking in general
4/5

I was tired of having to make new 10' Ethernet cables every time a user came in looking for one, or of losing my lab cables to other technicians, so I just ordered this 10-pack. pack. This is an excellent option. I essentially outsourced a portion of my job to China and only had to pay a fraction of my hourly rate in exchange for saving an hour of tedious work. I've had them connected and operational for a month and a half and have had no problems; the quality appears to be satisfactory. br>br>Due to the shroud, these, like many Ethernet cables, are difficult to remove. It wasn't the most difficult task I've ever undertaken, but it wasn't particularly enjoyable either. br>br>Apart from that, I would advise.
