It's a gem with some blemishes on it
4/5

There are a few drawbacks to consider:
- When a key is mapped to a number, it is called num- The lock is broken and will not open. br>What this means is: When you map B to 2, there is no need to use the Down arrow on the num-pad. lock. br>What this means is: You don't get two layers; instead, you get 22. keys that need to be remapped
- X1, X2, and X3 are the only ones. Macros can be set up in X3.
- Only common keys can be mapped; no F13-related keys can be mapped. Additional mouse buttons (up to 26) are available.
- Only X1, X2, and X3 media keys can be mapped. Pros: X3br>br>
- Any hotkey or combination can be mapped to any key [for example, Ctrl Alt Shift Win F].
- Including the Num- The lock key can be remapped, which is crucial after you've remapped everything else.
- Microphone that can be removed It connects via USB and includes a long starting cable.
- br>- Compatible with USB hubs. On-board memory = Plug and play After you've configured it, you'll be able to use it on USB KVM systems.

Hardware that is of high quality software that is peculiar I bought this as an add-on keypad for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator because my joystick only has 12 buttons and having more would be useful
3/5

And I believe it will be successful in the long run for that purpose. However, programming the keys to my preferences proved to be a difficult task. br>First, you must download their configuration app, which is not difficult and only takes a few minutes - but - It turns out that the app isn't compatible with my computer - It installs, but when you try to run it, it displays a small blank window before disappearing completely. I attempted to use the compatibility troubleshooter and its options, but the customization app would not run. However, the keypad's default configuration as an auxiliary keypad, as shown by the key legends, worked perfectly. As a result, I knew the hardware was in good shape. I believe the issue is due to my 64-year-old computer. This Penclic software was not designed to run on a bit Windows 10 system running from an SSD and updated to the most recent Windows version 2004. br>However, because the keypad is supposed to retain whatever customization you design directly on the keypad rather than requiring an app to run on your PC (in other words, you program the keypad however you want and then take it anywhere, i. e. I decided to take the keypad over to an older PC in my office running a 32-bit operating system, and it will send the codes you specify without any special drivers), I decided to take the keypad over to an older PC in my office running a 32-bit operating system. They installed and launched their customization application with ease on a 64-bit version of Windows 10. br>Programming with the app is a little tedious and slow. Committing the change to the coding of each key took about 5 to 10 seconds per key. They display a diagram of the keyboard layout, and you click on the key you want to program, and you're given the option of setting it to default (Numeric keypad mode), mouse action, keyboard key, multimedia key, or macro. And, most of the time, you'll use the Keyboard option, which displays a full-size keyboard and allows you to select a specific key or key combination with your mouse - When you select a key, it is highlighted in red - when you have the desired combination, such as CTRL- SHIFT- H, you press the OK button on the keyboard picture's bottom edge, the picture closes, and you wait a few seconds for the main keypad picture and the keypad itself to update with your key selection(s). It's more time consuming than simply making a list of all the keys and the codes you want - However, it is effective - Simply take it slowly. There are some simple buttons in their app for "Update," "Open," "Save," and "Reset," but the "Update" button, when selected, took several minutes to do something I'm not sure about (I believe it upgraded the firmware from v2. 13 to v2. 14 but no confirmation), displaying a progress bar, and resetting the keypad (apparently because the screen displays a disconnect message). If you see the "Update" button, I'm guessing they're getting close to releasing a new version. The "Update" button has vanished as a result, leaving only the other three options visible. However, you're perplexed because you have no idea what update means. After you've made changes, you'll need to update the firmware or the custom settings on the keypad. br>So, aside from getting the app to work on your specific version of Windows, it does what it says it does. On my 32-inch monitor, I was able to program the keypad. Take the keyboard from your 32-bit machine and put it on my 64-bit machine. The new key codes I'd programmed for each key were present and functional, just as advertised on the bit machine! br>If the configuration app had been more user-friendly and worked right out of the box, I'd give it five stars if there was a manual, but with no response from the company when I asked why the app wouldn't run, and having to do the programming on a different Windows box, I can only give it a three. However, because of the installation issues that forced me to configure it on another computer and the clumsy app behavior, I'd give it a 5 for hardware and a 1 for software. However, once programmed to your preferences, it's a 5 out of 5 in terms of performance. It has a good feel to it and does the job well. If you only have one computer and it runs a 64-bit operating system, I'd be wary if it's a 64-bit Windows 10 OS. I didn't test it on a Mac because I don't own one, but it's possible that the experience on a Mac would be completely painless!.

It actually works! The majority of the other top comments are FALSE
5/5

Macros can only be written to X1, X2, and X3 according to one of the most popular comments. That is entirely untrue. I've programmed macros for almost every key on the keypad. His other assertions are also incorrect. br>br> br>br>I'm using it on a Tormach CNC machine to speed up some keystrokes. br>br>I've created keyboard, mouse, and combo macros, and they all work flawlessly. br>br>Would you like a single button to type a complete sentence for you? Done. br>br>Want to move the mouse to a specific location and then click left, middle, or right with just one button? Done. br>br>Want to move the mouse to a dialog box, left-click, type a bunch of text, and then press enter with just one button? Done. br>br>Software is a little buggy, like a final beta, but it's simple once you figure out the quirks (which only takes a few seconds). br>br>The item itself is well-made and does not have the feel of cheap china. Penclic seems to be a Swedish name. I'm not sure where the keypads are made, but it's a nice device.

Although this is the cheapest programmable numpad on the market, it is still of high quality
5/5

Exceptional value for the money. The numpad has good keys that are pleasant to press and appear to be of reasonable quality. They're not mechanical, but they've served me well. The numpad appears to be missing a detachable micro-SD card in the photos, but it does come with one. A USB cable is included as an added bonus. Even better, the cable appears to be of better quality than standard cable. br>br>However, my favorite feature is the numpad's programmability. You can obtain their program by visiting their website. It's very light, and it doesn't require a username or any other nonsense. When you click on an image of the numeric keypad in the program, it opens up an image of a keyboard with clickable keys, which you use to select the macro. It's fairly basic, and it lacks the ability to select more unusual keys such as f12-. f24 or mouse buttons 4 and 5, but because you can select multiple keys at once, it's ideal for things like reopening a browser tab with ctrl shift T. You can import and export profiles, which is very convenient; additionally, the changes are saved to the device, so you don't have to keep the program running in the background; and I'm pretty sure you can just plug it into another computer and it will work, though I haven't tried it. br>br>The software also includes a macro editor, which I dislike because it has a strange interface that I couldn't get to close the first time I opened it; it can do more complicated things than the keyboard interface, such as timings between keystrokes, but it still can't do things like mouse button 4 or mouse movements, so I haven't used it much. br>br>I keep my numpad near my mouse and use it for one-handed web browsing and closing sites with ctrl-x. w, alt left and alt right to go back and forth, and ctrl pgup and ctrl pgdn to switch between tabs.
