It is going to work. However, because it's a cheesy set, consider upgrading or purchasing each of the tools separately if you plan to use it more than once.
I can assure you that it is a viable option.
After a water spill, I needed to open up a Macbook Pro laptop from 2018. I needed to replace the video board. Every tool required for repair was included in the kit.
I would recommend it because it is of good quality, has a comfortable handle, and has a strong magnetic field.

My Macbook Pro (2012), which is still in perfect working order, would quickly heat up with fans blaring after I connected it to a monitor or visited a website with videos or animations. According to my research, this was caused by the Nvidia GPU kicking in and heating the laptop, with the heat not dissipating due to dust trapped in the fan and vents. br>br>I purchased this set of tools from Amazon. The tools appear to be of good quality, and the magnetic screwdrivers make it simple to work with small screws without losing them. When I opened the back of my laptop, I discovered that the fans were clogged with dust and the vents were almost completely blocked. A video on how to clean it with compressed air was found through another web search. I was fortunate enough to have a can of compressed air handy. The dust had vanished in a matter of minutes. Since the cleanup, I've noticed a significant change in the temperature and fan levels. br>br>Every few years, I would strongly advise you to spring clean your Macbook. In this toolset, I only needed one screwdriver, but it was well worth the money. If you choose to clean, keep this point in mind. The screws on the Macbook's bottom aren't all the same length. Two of the ten screws in my case were about a half-millimeter shorter than the rest. Unless you compare them side by side and look closely, this is difficult to notice. Until I returned them, I assumed they were all the same length. Then I had to figure out which ones were right by trial and error.
Yes, they are more difficult to service yourself - I've had them for the majority of my life. BUT ONLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE APPROPRIATE TOOLS This kit is ideal, and it comes in a convenient roll-up container. It had all of the drivers I needed, as well as some excellent pick-ups, spudgers, and other items that were extremely useful. The drivers are a good size and have a good grip. My old old ass Macbook Air (circa 2013) still works fine, but it has recently started shutting down unless it is plugged in. I replaced the battery a few years ago, and the coconut battery assured me that it was in good working order. I was certain it was a faulty connection, but I couldn't recall where my torx were. Is it time for a new laptop or just a quick fix? I ordered this little kit, removed the back, and disconnected and reconnected the ribbon to the logicboard; I had a couple screws that I thought were stripped the last time I opened my Macbook Air, but these driver heads grabbed them fine, no spinning or stripping on the long and short screws. I only used battery power to turn it on, and it worked perfectly. br>br>Instead of spending $1300 on a new laptop, I'll spend $15 on this small kit (which I'll never use!). I'm considering purchasing a few more as holiday gifts for my Mac-owning friends. This is a fantastic little kit that I highly recommend.
These were extremely successful. I required the number one. For my old Airs, I used T2 (case perimeter screws) and T5 (hard drive screw). The small Phillips was required for my even older Macbook Pros. I'm not an electronics expert, but it's incredibly simple with the right tools, and I'm glad I bought the set with so many options. I'm also grateful for the magnetization of the drivers. Goodbye, silver bricks of the past!.
br>It used to be that you could crack open your electronics with a set of small Torx/security Torx drivers, but now, if you want to open the back of a MacBook Pro (for example), you'll need specialty pentalobe (5 pointed star) drivers to open the case, torx drivers to remove the cooling fan for cleaning, and miniature phillips drivers to swap out the hard drive. br>Apparently there are other specialty shapes too, such as the Y-shaped type. Purchase a set like this with a variety of options to save yourself some headaches down the road. PROS: br>br>
- Screwdrivers come in a wide range of tips and sizes. br>- Drivers will appreciate the size and grip. It's simple to apply the right amount of pressure to prevent tiny screws from stripping. br>- Color-coded to aid in the identification of different driver typesbr>- There's a good variety of nylon spungers in various sizes. When you have a choice, it's amazing how often you'll switch to a tool of a better size and shape. br>- Tweezers are used to grab and route small objects because they are sharp and pointed. br>- It comes with a pliable plastic-coated handle. y toolbox in which to keep the tools It keeps everything in my electronics toolbox together. br>- The drivers have a slight magnetic field - suitable for the screw sizes in usebr>br>CONSbr>- It's a little difficult to decipher the driver types on individual drivers - More size and contrast are required for older eyes like mine!br>br>Summary: br>I'm glad I invested in this collection. In the near future, I should avoid getting stuck on another electronics disassembly project.
beware. The P5 pentalobe screwdriver was not included in the kit; instead, I received two other pentalobes, which is completely unacceptable because not only does it state that a P5 is included, but you can't even use your MacBook without it. Fortunately, I had one on hand from a previous project. Aside from that, the plastic pry tool I used (T5, T8H, Phillips 00) worked well. However, some quality control is required, as this isn't the only review that mentions missing pieces.
Stop marketing this as a MacBook tool kit; it barely opens the lid, and none of the tiny screws inside are accompanied by a tool!.
In place of the cheap plastic boxes, the set includes a very nice pouch. To tighten a slightly loose screw on the bottom of my 16-inch MacBook Pro, I used the smallest pentalobe driver. So far, I'm pleased with my 13-inch MacBook Pro. I'm confident that the other tools will come in handy for future projects. The only criticism I have is that the handles are made of plastic, which may be advantageous because they will not rust.
I needed to disassemble a MacBook Pro, so I purchased this to help me. It opened it up, but it didn't have the T4 that I needed. I purchased a T4 at Home Depot and should have purchased all of the necessary tools there as well. This worked well enough to open some of the laptop's doors, but the material was flimsy and difficult to turn the tight screws. It was inexpensive and did the job, but I don't think it will last much longer than a few openings of the laptop.
