Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use a sharpie on these?

Yes, to put it succinctly. But nowadays, you can use a sharpie to write on the tops of almost any recordable CD. The best way to use them is with an inkjet printer that can print directly on the tops of CDs, such as my Epson Artisan 837 and other Epson models. Canon. They produce very professional-looking CDs, and the Water Shield technology ensures that the inks do not smudge or wash away when they are damp or wet.

Does this mean that the ink won't streak if the disc gets wet for those of you who have printed on it?

I've been using these for a long time and have never had a single streak. I believe they will withstand some water for a short period of time, but I have not tested them for a long period of time; they may need to dry for a few hours before they are waterproof; When I stacked them right after they came out of the printer, there was some ink transfer. I usually have no trouble putting them in sleeves just a few minutes after printing. I've used Epson and Canon ink jet printers, and both produce excellent results.

Has anyone used an Epson XP-2000 printer to print on this CD? Is it better to get a 620 or a 630? The printed surface of my Canon Pixma is scratched a lot. There is nothing attractive about it! ?

For CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs, I only have an inkjet printer. rays. I've owned the last five Epson models as they've improved their disk printing mechanism, and I have to say the XP series is the best. The drive system is flawless, as is the removable tray. Epson drivers give you a lot of control over the surface quality, allowing you to fine-tune both glossy and matt finishes. I'm running Windows XP on my computer. 850 and have successfully used six or eight different brands of printable disks. The Taiyo Yuden/JVC is one of my favorites, and with the right settings in your printer driver, you'll get great results.

How does the watershield coating compare to the standard coating of the same brand? WS are roughly twice the price, so I had to inquire. ?

WaterShield is a type of protection against water. A glossy finish has been added to make the product more water resistant and scratch resistant. br>Printable in white inkjet: The appearance is white and matte. Inkjet disc printers or inkjet printers with disc printing trays can be used to print on the surface. Surface prints have the appearance of being printed on plain white printer paper. br>I hope this information is useful.

CDs with a low error rate and a long shelf life
5/5

These are an excellent choice for mastering, reference, or any other critical audio work, and the old adage "you get what you pay for" holds true in this case. br>I've purchased a variety of CDRs from various sources, including Office Depot and others. They'd be fine some of the time, but every third one would be a roller coaster. In terms of blending As a mastering engineer, I can't afford to give clients unplayable CDs, so I rely on these for anything important. I've burned hundreds of them and tested them with Plextor's error checking software, and I've never had one with an error count higher than what the most conservative duplication (replication) houses would accept. They'd make great Data CDs as well. br> br>Intriguingly, the ones with the white ceramic laminate top have more errors, despite the fact that they are more expensive. br>These CDRs may appear strange - They're a little thinner and shinier than most brands, but they have a great protective coating on top and strict manufacturing standards that haven't slipped since JVC took over distribution.

It will keep the graphics you design/print directly onto the disks from being smudged by moisture from your hands
5/5

This is the second time I've bought this item. And I'll keep buying it as long as I'm making and distributing music CDs. When creating a professional-looking, high-quality CD for distribution, this is the ONLY way to go. You have to assume that people will hold a CD with their fingers on the top (graphics) side. That is why the Watershield shield is so crucial. It will keep the graphics you design/print directly onto the disks from being smudged by moisture from your hands. I don't buy any other white hub printable disks that don't say they're Watershield. There's no other option. And they arrived ahead of schedule from this distributor. It doesn't get any better than that!.

It's beautiful to look at, and it's even more beautiful to listen to
5/5

The best quality for CDs that can be printed. Purchasing high-quality CD blanks is becoming more difficult. The print quality is excellent, and the recordings are excellent. I've tested dozens of them using a Plextor system for error detection, and these will provide you with consistent, low-cost results. Even with inexpensive DVD burners, the error burns in a suitable burner. You can create professional-looking CDs with a variety of printers, such as an Epson Artisan. br>However, these discs aren't as good as, say, twelve years ago's Taiyo Yuden discs. Around 80% of the quality of those legendary discs is preserved. Even when using old stock, the older dye formula gives slightly less errors when measured over a large number of samples using a controlled burn in the reference Plextor professional. The current formula's printing surface is excellent, and the write quality is excellent, but it isn't quite as good as the previous one. The surface has a slight texture, and it holds ink well and dries quickly. Also excellent in terms of durability and shelf life, this product is highly recommended.

The print quality is incredible! Being new to the direct-to-consumer (D2C) market, I set out to find a recordable CD with an inkjet printable surface that would not smudge after purchasing a Canon Pixma iP4920
5/5

I bought some Memorex CDRs from a local store with a matte printable surface, but the ink smudged. Based on the reviews, I purchased the Taiyo Yuden/JVC disks, and I have not been disappointed; in fact, the quality of the print on these disks must be seen to be believed! They appear to be of professional quality and do not smudge in the least. If, like me, you've grown accustomed to the lighter color of the phthaloCyanine recording surface, you might be surprised by these disks. Taiyo Yuden/JVC employs cyanine, which has a darker blue/green appearance. I can't say much about the differences between the two types, except that there appears to be a lot written about the Taiyo disks' superior quality and high recommendation by disk duplicators. I mention this so that you aren't taken aback by the color of the recording surface if you were expecting the usual from the big-name disk manufacturers. br>br>For the time being, I'm satisfied with these disks, and the print quality is superior to any other method of disk printing short of professional screen printing.

These blank CDs have now become trash
3/5

Don't throw your money away on these worthless blank CDs. These CDs were fantastic when I bought them in November 2014, so I bought them again in June 2018, and they are now garbage. They are now much thinner and do not fit easily into my car CD player; I have to push it in and then pry it out. Worse, they will not eject; I have to use another CD and place it below the jammed CD, then pry the stuck CD upwards to get it out.

But it's not perfect
4/5

Work fine and there are no burning issues, but for some reason this is the only glossy CD-ROM available. R I've tried five times (out of five) and my printer (Canon IP8720) leaves noticeable marks on the gloss, but not on the art, from the feed. It doesn't even make a difference if the CD is a little thicker. Falcon Media Smartguard (my personal favorite) is a popular choice among Rs. I tried two printers of the same model, including one that was brand new, and they both failed.

Simply the best
5/5

I make mini-documentaries. Concerts are held occasionally, and CDs are made available to the performers. These CDs are br>br> Rs are unquestionably the best in terms of recording, playback, printing, visibility, durability, and shinability (ha, shininess!). br>br>Even though the JVC logo is on the box, these are genuine Taiyo Yuden CDs (as confirmed by the CD writer). br>br>It's a shame Epson continues to refuse to license their inkjet CD printing patent to any other inkjet manufacturer in the United States; you'll need an Epson to get the adapter to print on these. (Canon printers sold in Australia are rumored to have CD-ROM drives. ) R printing (due to the fact that the patent does not cover that region of the globe). Regardless, these come highly recommended. br>br>.
