Contrary to popular belief, The laptop will not shut down - HUGE gap
3/5

I bought one of these and was impressed by the quality, but I was disappointed that it wouldn't let me close my laptop, despite the fact that it showed a picture of a laptop closing (which is the same as mine). I replaced it with a new one because I thought it was slightly bent, but the problem still exists. When you open the laptop, the screen falls off because it doesn't close properly (a good 1/4" at the edge). Unless you want to carry a flimsy piece of plastic (that will inevitably bend) separately from your laptop and add it to your screen every time you need to use it, it's not worth even $10.

Good quality, but when I use my 2017 MacBook Pro, the lid does not completely close
3/5

As you'd expect from Kensington, there's a nice privacy screen. Its reversibility for both gloss and matte finishes is appealing to me. br>br>Unfortunately, my 2017 15-year-old son was killed in a car accident. When the privacy screen is attached, the inch Macbook Pro with Touch Bar does not completely close. When the privacy screen is not in use, they do include a protective sleeve. If I had known it had to be removed in order for the laptop to close properly, I probably would not have purchased it. I'll put it to the test this week while on the road and update this review.

Not at all what was described
3/5

Once stuffed into a briefcase, the laptop will not close.   I don't usually write reviews, but I felt it was necessary to express my dissatisfaction with this product. The seller claims that with the privacy screen installed, the laptop will shut. If you only plan to use it in one place, such as on your desk, you can close it and it will remain closed, as shown in their images. The laptop will remain open as soon as you put it in a briefcase or, in my case, a Filson bag. 3/8" of an inch is the approximate measurement. It will open and close with each step for the time being. You can close it and it will immediately reopen. When you take away the privacy screen, it closes and stays closed as intended. br>br>An image of the opening is attached. br>br>It's perfect in terms of privacy, but the thickness makes it difficult to get close to it. br>br>This MacBook Pro arrived on December 12th and is protected by an Incase textured case purchased from Apple's website.

It's a privacy shield that doesn't give you any
3/5

Good: My Macbook Pro has a magnetic strip that attaches to the screen, so there's no need to fiddle with sliding tabs or sticking tabs to the screen. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, Regardless of the angle, anyone can see your screen. To get to a point where the screen is truly private, lower the brightness until you can't see it yourself. It is so bad that people could read the larger text on the screen easily even at 50% brightness. This is a waste of money for a product that is supposed to shield your screen from people sitting next to you at work or on a plane.

It's an improvement over nothing
3/5

That isn't a lot to say. Perhaps I have an unrealistic expectation, but I've seen privacy screens on PC monitors at the office that completely block any view of the screen at angles of 30 degrees or more. This doesn't do anything of the sort. While dimming things to equivalency of around 40% brightness, you can still very definitely see what is on the screen of a MacBook Pro% Given the lack of other options, I'll stick with this because it's better than nothing, which isn't saying much. The magnet is nice, but it should command an 80% premium over other generic offers as well. The display is no longer flush with the body when the laptop is closed, as other users have noted. I'll upgrade when something better becomes available, but for the time being, this will suffice.

It does an excellent job of reducing glare
5/5

This screen cover was purchased for my 2018 15" Macbook Pro primarily to reduce screen glare, rather than for privacy reasons. I use my Mac in my home office (where privacy is not an issue), but there is a large window directly behind my desk that causes a lot of glare on my nice glossy MB screen. During the day, it is very difficult to see what is on my screen. br>br>Overall impressions: When the matte finish is facing out, the Kensington MP15 Magnetic Privacy Screen does a good job of reducing glare and providing privacy to keep prying eyes from seeing your bank login information. It adheres well to the screen and still allows the lid to close, though a small gap is created and the MBP's magnets' ability to keep the lid closed is reduced slightly. This, on the other hand, is a non-starter. When it's on your desk or in a sleeve, it becomes a problem. Installation and removal are a breeze thanks to the magnetic adhesion. I like that I can easily take it off when I want to and that it comes with a handy storage sleeve. Because I primarily use the matte finish side to reduce glare (the glossy side actually increases glare), I prefer to use it. ) However, users who primarily want the cover for privacy and want to keep their screen's glossy look will appreciate the glossy side; there is a noticeable reduction in screen brightness with the MP15 in place, but it's worth it for the reduced glare, and the screen is still bright enough. In fact, I don't need the screen to be as bright anyway because of the reduced glare, so it's a wash in my opinion. With the screen in place, the lid closes easily, and it achieves a good balance of reducing glare without making the screen too dark to see. br>br>Pic 1: a picture of a picture of a picture of a picture of a picture of a Pic 2: Without the MP15, the screen is off (there is a lot of glare)br>Pic 3: With the MP15, the screen is off (there is a lot of glare)b Pic 3: Screen off with the MP15, matte finish side (significant glare reduction)br> br>Pic 4: Screen off with the MP15, glossy finish side (increased glare compared to uncovered MBP screen) Pic 5: A white background on the screen without the MP15 (high glare)br>Pic 6: A white background on the screen with the MP15 (high glare)br>Pic 7: (Increase in glare compared to uncovered MBP screen)br>Pic 6: White background on screen with MP15, glossy finish side ((Increase in glare compared to uncovered MBP screen)br> Pic 7: White background on screen with MP15, matte finish side (glare reduction)br> MP15br>Pic 8: Left half of MBP screen is uncovered, right half has a matte finish MP15br> Pic 9: Black background on screen without the MP15 (high glare, difficult to read)br> Pic 10: Black background on screen with glossy MP15 (high glare, even worse than without the MP15)br> Pic 11: Black background on screen with the matte side of the MP15 (reduced glare, readable without strain)br>Pic 12: Pic 12: MBP screen without MP15 (screen contents still highly visible)br>Pic 13: MBP screen with MP15 (screen contents still highly visible)br>Pic 14: MBP screen with MP15 (screen contents still highly visible)br> Pic 13: MBP screen with MP15 matte (mostly obscured screen contents)br>Pic 14: MBP screen with MP15 matte (mostly obscured screen contents)br>Pic 15: MBP screen with MP15 matte (mostly obscured screen contents Pic 14: MBP screen with MP15 matte (screen contents completely obscured)br>Pic 15: MBP screen with MP15 matte (screen contents completely obscured)br>Pic 16: MBP screen with MP15 matte (screen contents completely obscured)br The MP15 adheres to the top but not the bottom of the screen with magnets, which means that if the screen is angled at less than 90 degrees to the keyboard, the MP15 will have a gap.
