Questions & Answers

Is there a way to avoid having to restart my games from the beginning?

Your PS4 library will always contain your game licenses. Back up your'saves' to the PS4 Cloud or a flash drive before reinstalling the game. After the new drive has been installed, you should upload them.

Is it compatible with all versions of the PlayStation?

It should work with the PS4 because the hard drive is the same speed and size as the one I got for my PS3 from Western Digital.

After a few days, the hard drive stopped working. I have a two-year warranty, so if I send it back, will I get a replacement or a refund?

You should be able to return it for a new hard drive because you have a warranty; please see the seller's page for more information on your warranty.

Is this a 1Tb hard drive or just an 8500 TB hard drive?

It's only 850 GB, which is 150 GB short of 1TB, for my PlayStation 4, which had only 500 GB.

It works great on the PS4 and is simple to set up if you follow the instructions carefully! It works flawlessly, is compatible with the PS4 console, and was simple to set up PS4 software
5/5

If you're having trouble getting it to work with your PS4, make sure you follow the instructions on the Sony website to the letter. Here's how I went about it: 1. br>br> Use a USB flash drive with a minimum of 4GB of storage space. Make sure it's formatted in FAT32 by looking at its properties. Make a folder called "PS4" with all caps and no quotes. Create a new folder called "UPDATE" in all caps and without the quotes inside that folder. Go online to Playstation on a computer with an internet connection. com/en- us/assistance/system- Go to updates/ps4/, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the black "download now" button where it says "Perform a New Installation of the System Software. " If the file is less than 800MB, you've downloaded the incorrect update. Make sure you're using the link at the bottom of the page this time. If you have the correct file, save it to the flash drive in the UPDATE folder you created inside the PS4 folder, with the name "PS4UPDATE. " "PUP" in capital letters and without quotation marks.
2. Connect your PS4 to the USB drive and go to the (Settings) menu. [Application Saved Data Management] is a feature that allows you to manage the data that your application saves If you have a Playstation, go to [Saved Data on USB Storage Device] and save all of your backup files there, or save everything to the cloud.
3. Turn off your PS4 and unplug all cables once this has been saved.
4. Apply light pressure to the left side cover of the PS4 above the disc drive and slide it to the left. It should be relatively simple to remove. Remove the screw on the front left that has playstation symbols on it with a small phillips head screwdriver. Remove the two screws on each side of the hard drive sled after sliding the hard drive out. There will be a total of four of them. The small rubber rings that hold the screws in place should not be removed. Remove the old hard drive, then firmly but gently place the new one in its place.
5. Replace all of the screws, then reinstall the hard drive in the console.
6. The PS4's cover should be replaced.
7. Reconnect everything, then plug in the USB flash drive, as well as your controller via USB.
8. Hold the power button down for about 7 seconds, or until you hear the second beep, and then release it. Your PS4 will boot into safe mode as a result of this action. [Initialize PS4 (Reinstall System Software)] is the option to choose. br>br>It will take a few minutes for everything to install on your PS4, after which you can adjust all of your settings as shown on the screen. Re-examine your work after you've completed this step. Use the game discs to install your games, or reinstall them. If you purchased a digital copy of a game from the PlayStation Store, you will need to download it. After your games have been reinstalled, return to (Settings). [Application Saved Data Management] is a feature that allows you to manage the data that your application saves Save your data to the PS4 using [Saved Data on USB Storage Device] and it will restore all of your game settings, profiles, saved games, and so on. br>br>That's it! I hope this information is useful.

Ps4 Slim is no longer laggy or crashes
5/5

Symptoms of a PlayStation 4 (PS4) Menus and loading were sluggish, and the system frequently froze, requiring a hard restart. Multiple hard restarts and unplugs eventually messed up the system software. I copied a full system install from the PlayStation website to a flash drive and tried a fresh install, but the issues persisted. It kept freezing and lagging, and by lagging, I mean it took ten minutes to get back to normal. It took 15 seconds for the system to respond, which isn't a small amount of time. It took 3 minutes to install this drive. The drive was slightly thicker and heavier than the Toshiba that had previously been available. br>I already had the full system install on a drive, and it went much faster than it did on the original drive, which I had tried to fix a few times before. The new drive is fantastic; it is much quieter than the old one, there is no lag, and everything works perfectly. I'm relieved to report that the problem has now been resolved. A $50 savings is preferable to purchasing a brand new PlayStation 4. This didn't expand my drive because I already had a 1TB, but I'm sure it would suffice for upgrading a 500GB if that's all you have.

PS4 Pro 7 is compatible
5/5

0 Updated on 10/04/2019. My brand new PS4 Pro recently received an update to version 7. 0 software, only to have game corruption and blue screen issues. After a day or so, I couldn't get into games in time, and if I did, the graphics wouldn't fully load. When the PS was in sleep mode, it eventually shut down and booted into safe mode. This HDD was the answer to all of our problems. Look up how to set up a new update on YouTube. YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE ALL OF YOUR GAMES! Please upload all of your game saves and captures; however, I did not transfer the games because they were most likely corrupted. The price of this HDD is $40, compared to the price of a new computer. A repair shop will charge you $115.

PS4 version works well
5/5

My PlayStation 4's old hard drive had started to fail after 6 years, causing games to freeze. The data had started to go bad. The system had started shutting down at inconvenient intervals. All indications pointed to a failing hard drive, so I looked here on Amazon and elsewhere in the hopes of finding a suitable replacement without paying a fortune. After some searching, I discovered this 1 TB hard drive, which I confirmed matched the specs of the original PS4 hard drive, indicating that this new drive would be an upgrade from 500 GB to 1 TB. The price difference between a 500 GB and a 1 TB drive was only about $20, so I thought that was a great deal. br>I placed an order for a new hard drive and received it in 4 days (shipping time was a little longer than usual due to the COVID debacle slowing the US Postal Service). Regardless, given the circumstances, the unit was delivered on time. The packaging was adequate and unobtrusive, and the product was well protected from damage during shipping. Installation instructions are not included in the packaging, but they are readily available online. br>I installed the new hard drive and updated the PS4 system software via USB drive with ease, and everything was up and running in under 30 minutes. The longest part of the installation process was waiting for PS4 software updates, but there isn't much that can be done to speed things up (that I'm aware of). br>After the installation and software update, I noticed that the drive had only about 785 GB of free space instead of 1 TB. This is brought up in at least one other review. Although I am not a computer expert, I believe the PS4's operating system takes up some of that space. 215 GB, on the other hand, appears to be a substantial amount of storage for an operating system. This is my only criticism of this hard drive so far. br>Other than that, it functions as expected, and I am satisfied with my purchase. I would gladly buy from this seller again if I ever needed another hard drive.
