It is a thin pair of socks without extra padding at the instep - I was looking for exactly what you had. As compared to bulky thick socks, these socks provide me with more comfort in my athletic shoes. Moreover, my feet do not sweat when I am wearing them. I really like these, they are like a mesh material and are slightly see-through when stretched, but feel strong and I don't find the seams bothersome in any way.
