In order to get the right fit in this garment, I had to order in a size 16. In order to put the original 14 in perspective, I measured its width across the widest part of the skirt. 20 inches was the size of it. You should keep in mind that a size 14 is only 40 inches around the widest part of your hip, so you do not want to look like a sausage. The length of your hips should be around 40 inches, which is the length of a size 10.
Though it has to be taken in, it's still a great skirt. I'm usually a size 12 and I am currently wearing a size 10. It wouldn't have been a problem for me to have scored.
Even though the grey didn't fit, it still looked good! My size 10 will require me to send it back so that it can be replaced with a smaller one.
