There is 100% cotton in this material, but it's a bit stiff so I may wash it to soften it. The fit is a little big for me, but it does feel My height is 5'5", I weigh 150 lbs, and I have 30 weeks remaining in my pregnancy. Stunning gown. I like it a lot. This is the 10L/XL I got A gray and white polka dot with pink trim makes up Lisa in size 16. The tops and bottoms on me are a 12 and a 12. There is a bit of stiffness in the fabric however, after I dry it, that might change. I have naturally large breasts and the fit is good, but I find that the breast area is a little tight on me since 38DD is my natural breast size. It will be two and a half months before I finish. It's not good if the breasts get too large. However, you will be able to see the belly area well. It would have been nice if the sleeves were a little longer, about one-half to an inch long. I would like them a bit longer because they flare out a bit. Those who don't have full figures and who are regular shaped should be able to wear this product successfully. Though it would not fit a 16, I see no reason why it would. A chest area that is too tight may be the problem. Here's an update Since the gown is made of cotton and it is stiff, I have washed and air dried it six or seven times in order to soften it. I do not think it has gotten softer over time. There is no way to dry it since it is 100% cotton. The gown is so cute, and I wanted to wear it. * I should be able to have my delivery in 40 days. There is no flap or overlap at the front of this style, so if you lift it up for monitoring, exams, or giving birth, it will be bunched around your waist. We regret to inform you that this will be returning. I think the other style might be more suitable for my size and its material appears to be softer.
